CUSAT B.Tech Information Technology: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Admission to the college is primarily based on the CUSAT CAT engineering test, held annually in May, with results and rank lists announced within a month. Alternatively, students can gain admission via the JEE MAIN exam. There are specific quotas for Kerala residents, all India category, NRIs, Lakshadweep students, and reservations for economically backward and reserved categories like SC, ST, and OBC. The faculty is well-regarded, with most having over 10 years of experience, although many are on a contract basis.

The semester system includes two internal tests and an external exam, requiring a total of 70 marks to pass. The college offers a three-tier fee structure: State Merit students pay around Rs. 40,000 per year, All India Merit students about Rs. 90,000, and NRI students roughly Rs. 1.5 lakh annually, with an additional exam fee of Rs. 3,500 per semester. Hostel fees are Rs. 5,300 monthly. Financial assistance is available through educational loans, scholarships, and state-sponsored programs like e-grantz.

Placement is strong, with a dedicated cell connecting students to top companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Infosys. The highest salary package is 30 LPA, with an average of 7.73 LPA and over 600 placements recorded in 2024. The placement success rate is around 90%, especially high in computer science, information technology, safety and fire, and naval architecture. Students can participate in internships from the 6th or 7th semester, with opportunities both on and off campus, including international placements in Japan.

The university offers scholarships to students below the income line and for those from lower castes, alongside specific support for girls and economically disadvantaged families.
