Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is hard for certain subjects but overall it is manageable, the teaching methods are not satisfactory in the case of some teachers. Teachers must be more active and interested in teaching There are two internal exams a semester Once every two months and sem exam at the end of semester

Placement Experience

5

The placements are excellent As long as you have no backpapers, you will most certainly be placed in a company The last three years have showcased 100% placement for all the students with no backpapers The major placement companies are Synergy, Fleet, MSC, Maersk

Fees and Financial Aid

I have gotten OBC All India Merit seat since I am Latin Catholic christian but the fees are the same as all All India Merit seats. The fees are 3 lakhs per year not including mess fees. The message fees per month is around 4000 rupees. Those who are hindu OBC have almost no fees a year, like around 40,000 a year and those OBC students also get Egrants scholarship since they are Hindu OBC Since I am Christian OBC, I will not get any feedback lowering or scholarships. Since my field is male dominated, female students get scholarships to encourage more women into this field. State merit seats have to pay around 2 lakhs a year also excluding mess fees and there mess fees is also 4000 a month

Campus Life

4

The infrastructure are more than satisfactory and necessary facilities and amenities are provided for the students for social involvement and for socialising and for sports and entertainment but the library does not offer adequate number of books for studies

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel is spacious and offer necessary facilities Hostel is hygienic and clean Toilets and bathrooms are cleaned everyday except on Sundays and the rooms are cleaned every two days The hostel is affordable, around 16,000 for 6 months Not including mess fees

Admission

I chose this college due to the nature of my course and the low chances of finding colleges with this couse I did not apply to many colleges, the only one notable was this one There were three allotments and I was not selected and after allotment, the rest of the unfilled seat were assigned in spot admissions There were four spot admissions and I got a seat in second spot admission

Faculty

3

The faculty is sometimes understaffed at times There are 80 students in my batch, there are two classes in my batch so 40 students each A total of 4 batches are there and the college is sometimes understaffed for teaching The course is rather hard considering the hectic timings, almost 25% of all students end up with backpapers after each semester. In each semester there are usually 6 theory papers and 2 lab practicals The teaching faculty are usually okay and teach well but sometimes they are biased towards students and treat some students differently and some teachers are not interested in teaching and they are not much knowledgeable in the subject but most teachers are okay and satisfactory There are 5 modules to study for in each theory paper and each module is worth 15 marks, so in total 75 marks 24 out of 75 is needed to pass the external exam and a total of 50 must be there to pass the subject Internal is out of 40 marks The sum of internal and external must be 50 and you must score 24 in external After fulfilling these conditions, you will pass the theory paper For lab, it is out of 50 and 25 is needed to pass

Interview Experience

4

The topics discussed were related to my previous education and why I am interested in this course and college They asked me questions about my 12th marks and percentage and asked for my certificates and papers

Night Life

4

The nightlife is very present and active in my college, but my hostel timings in working days state that I can go out only at 4pm and need to be back by 9:30pm In holidays, I can go out at 7am and need to be back by 9:30pm

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
