Remarks

No bad remarks as such it is an excellent college both for bachelors and the masters degree, the campus was wide, spacious, and a beautiful one. The canteen was good, I am thankful to my faculties who have guided me, my overall experience was very good in the college.

Entrance Preview

I wrote the entrance exam of PGCET and the ranking which I got was around 4000+ (approx. nearby), I remember there was a counselling done for us followed by the interview process they asked some for the basic questions related to my bachelors degree subject, after my degree I was drawn towards the robotics so I took up Industrial automation and robotics ass my masters degree subject.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course which I chose was industrial automation and robotics, this subject was amazing in its own way, since ours was the first batch during that time it was like a experimental batch to the college, there was an robotic arm installed and labs were well organised, there was lots of focus given to the practical learning, Elective options I can say we had industrial automation, rapid proto typing.

Internships Opportunities

College did not provide any internship for the students, but we went searched for the internships and we did a internship in the company named “FANUC ROBOTICS” which lasted for three months ,the experience was very good, the internships were carried out during the weekdays, our college supported us to do the internship.

Placement Experience

4

We did not have much placements since ours was the first batch for this course which was started by our college, but other departments had a very good scope of placement and I can say almost 50-70 % of the students used to get placed, the average package was around 6 lakhs.

College Events

4

There were lots of events such as “TECHNIEKS” technical fest which was open to all the students from other colleges to exhibit their projects and talents it was an inter college fest. There were lots of different cultural programmes also conducted in our college and the management also supported in each and every way.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I paid a fees of 75,000INR per year for my masters degree, that time for masters it was affordable. The college took the fees for one complete year and everything included in that fees except the examination fees which was collected later the examination fees was almost 2,000INR.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes scholarships were provided to both the merit holders and the other deserving students like caste category, sc, st students. I didn’t avail any scholarship, no college did not help in getting any loan.

Campus Life

4.5

There were lots of extra curricular things happening in our college dancing, singing, and lots of different things which could enhance the overall development of the students, these events helped us in exploring the inner events a person had.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

No I was not residing in a hostel , my friends from other cities stayed and they say it was not good , even the food was also not good during that time, there was only 2,3,4 sharing rooms as per my knowledge.

Alumni/Alumna

There was a good alumni network in our college, we had a alumni network meeting which was conducted early once, it was a good experience hearing to them, Narayana murthy the CEO of Infosys was a member of the alumni and presently he has enrolled himself as the member of the management in the NIE mysore.

Exam Structure

Same scenarios of exams as it was in the bachelor degree there were three internals conducted in each and every successive months and the best average of two was taken for the final consideration, during internals we had two subjects per day and it as not tiring. But during the final exams we had one subject per day with sufficient study holidays in between.

Faculty

5

Most of the faculties had completed their M.tech degree with enough experience in the industry , further most of the faculties were pursuing their Ph.D degree along with their teaching, Yes faculties were well qualified and were good in teaching, they were very much interactive with the students. Standard of teaching was also good, they always guided us telling about their past experience

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Mtech Thermal Engineering because I was interested in thermal subjects like Fluid mechanics, Heat transfer, CFD. The Curriculum is pretty decent and it does covers the fundamentals and advanced topics of the particular subject but it could be better in terms of imparting practical and industrial knowledge. The exams that are held in NITK are competitive and requires a good understanding of the subject. You simply cannot cram and get good marks in exam. You have to know the proper implementation of that particular formula or theory.

Campus placement conditions have improved in IISc after the inception of campus placement cell. Average package is around I would say 25 lpa. Since most of the students go for higher studies from IISc hence, you will see the placement percentage to be low. Personality I am also going for higher studies.
