Likes

Campus is very pleasant and silent with not a very humid emvironment and comfortable to survive.
Placement here too are very good and improving every year.
Faculties here support and encourage students to their full extent.

Dislikes

Groceries are not very near so their is problem for purchasing daily use products
Courses should be changed so that new technical skills can be taught to the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is slightly different than other IIITs focusing on mathematical concepts first rather than scientific concepts. I as a CSE student found the way quite comfortable. Faculties are also very helpful.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 225000 per year

Placement Experience

Placements are fabulous here, hitting 16-17 lpa almost this year despite having a recession. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart, NVIDIA etc visit us during the placement seasons. The highest package offered was 1+ crore to one of our seniors and about 95% of people get placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are a bit overrated but the facilities that are thrown at campus are of grade-A quality. Scholarships are also provided on the basis of state. For example, MP students get full scholarships by the NSP policy of govt and some scholarships are provided to Bihar as well as Up students too.

Campus Life

The campus is in the progress phase and construction is going on for a new building for the boys' hostel which is about to be complete. And the existing boy's hostel is superb with TT court, a Nescafe as night canteen and a T.V. room for entertainment. The clubs too are very interesting and enjoyable.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are very good. Cleaning services are provided by the hostel staff itself. Regular cleaning drives happen. The meal quality is good and the mess facilities are clean too including the utensils as well. There is no need for PG or anything but if you want to stay out of the hostel premises, you need to take permission from the administration.

Hostel Fee: INR 25000 per year

Admission

It is based on JEE ranks and counselling. All the details are provided at JEE counselling services website. People can read the rules thoroughly to understand the procedure. The eligible people are also differentiated on the basis of ranks for different branches that the student might elect

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Placement Experience:

Placement percentage is nearly about 75-80%. Usually students get placed in good PSUs, or in tech companies. Other students opt for further studies like mtech or mba. My plans is to mtech as I want to do better jobs than a btech graduate do

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

An honest review for NIT silchar with detail analysis.

Placement Experience:

Placement of NIT silchar is pretty good. Average package is around 12 Lpa. Although after corona the placement dropped but still it is good. Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester. Generally criteria for sitting in any company varies based on cgpa and sometimes 10th and 12th marks depends on company to company generally it is 6 or 7 or 8 cgpa. Good it companies offer 20-30lpa and lowest offer was 6th lpa.

For campus placement student are eligible from 7th sem and for internship whole 3rd year 5th to 6th sem. Review of the college in north east

This college has a good curriculum and also great for going to research side I preferred this over the others I applied because the others had no permanent campus and were very far from home moreover some do not have good research programs .I preferred this college over IIIT pune IIIT kota and vit which gave me a confirmed admission.i got rejected from a few colleges like mnit allahabad IIIT lucknow and IIIT Allahabad because I did not reach its cut off ranks .the admission process is quite simple in my college it is done through jossa councelling of jee .u can get admission through jee mains it is the most preferred exam by the students and for cse branch u have to get above 20000 rank and for ece above 430000 this is for general male...Read More
