Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose ECE over AIML as my father and family members have experience in this field and they told me to go with ECE as it will have an extra edge in the future. The faculty-student ratio is extremely good here as there are different teachers for different subjects in different branches and there's no same faculty teaching two branches. Maximum teachers here are Ph.D. from IITs and foreign universities, their teaching methods are modern too as they teach using ppts, etc. Exams are always timely here, however, syllabus completion is tough as we are in a short semester due to Covid, and also papers are not set easily, they are tough to pass. Everyone coming here must make his/her mind clear about studies because they will have to study very hard to get a good GPA.

Internships Opportunities

5

Walmart, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Meta, Facebook, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung, etc. are big names that provide internship opportunities here. I can't say roles as I have just passed my 1st semester. Stipend is mentioned above in case you missed it.

Placement Experience

5

From 5th semester, students get internship opportunities on campus here and placement is provided from 7th semester. All great giants you can imagine your job into come here for placements excluding Apple. Number of offers made is justified too. The highest package on campus was 82lpa from ECE, CSE, and IT. The highest off-campus is 3.5 crore per year from the Chemical branch. Circuital branches have 90%+ students placed. Non-circuital struggle a bit in on-campus placements but it is decent.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hike is not an issue here, It is as it was years back and scholarships are provided based on semester results. The name of the scholarship provided based on merit is the GP Birla Scholarship. For startups, great financial support is being provided by BIT as it has one of the best startup cultures in India and also internship or stipend provided on campus is seriously high, we have got to know from our seniors minimum of 40k and max varies to 3 lakh per month stipend is provided to students.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is peace. Weather and natural beauty are all pros here. Bitotsav is the Annual fest conducted in February every year at BIT Mesra. Tech Fest till now has not happened so I don't know about that. The library is very large and has all the books you would want to study so I can't say anything much about it. Sports and extracurricular activities are being promoted here as there are different clubs for all the extracurricular activities. I'm also a member of Dhwani - The music club at BIT Mesra. There are many clubs like I can say whatever be your interest, you will find its club here for sure. Location is what is the only one and biggest negative of this college. Ranchi is 13kms away from Mesra and Mesra is literally a village town.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel facilities are great, food is the best. Meal quantity is great too, the menu is decided by students. So it is a student-driven mess and every hostel has its different mess so menus are different in every hostel. Things in common are 3 to 4 days non-veg is provided in dinner. Registration for a hostel is done on the day of college admission and affordability is excellent as 6k is mess fees for 6 months and 19k is hostel fees per semester. No one can rent a room or PG here if they are not from Ranchi.

Admission

Eligibility or safe score for ECE in BIT Mesra is to get 96%ile+ for HS(Home State) and 97%ile+ for OS (Other State). Application or admission is done based on rank achieved in JEE Mains. Counseling is done under JoSAA and Csab, there are no other application fees required. Home state reservation is pretty good here for all categories as people die for the name of NIT Jamshedpur as it has fewer fees and unknowingly students get benefitted as BIT has an extra edge over maximum NITs. National scheme-based scholarships are provided here for the assigned categories. The improvement which I want to see here is after JoSaa, the main admission process is done in a very conventional style here which takes a lot of time and can make you commit mistakes. So that's the change or improvement which can occur in the admission process. Otherwise, BIT Mesra stands very high in terms of placement.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

1.The main thing about our campus, campus placements are so good. Branches like CSE & ECE have high placement percentage about 90. 2.From 3rd year students got involved college internships and programmes that allow them to better placements. 3.Top companies like Google,Microsoft,Amazon,Intel,Samsung etc visited our campus. And the highest package of our campus is about 60LPA offered by Amazon. 4.I planned to work after completing my B.Tech.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

On-campus placements are provided to pretty much everyone in the college. With one of the highest percentages of students getting placed, yet the average CTC offered is not up to loving standards, a lot of students opt for higher studies and IAS preparation after college.

We had very little companies for placement ibm and hcl came for bpo jobs.. About 80% left with no jobs after completing the session... Very poor placement opportunities. After completing the jobs most of us went to banglore for searching jobs... We had placement if any after completing 8 semesters We had ibm and hcl but they asked for donations before giving jobs. Packages were 3.6 Lakh to 5 Lakh per year. Overall 20% got placement. I prepared for Government exams after completing my degree.
