What Students Say
Likes
- The peer group in my course was quite active and ambitious when it came to having a clear vision for life, besides this I also enjoyed and learnt a lot being a member of two of the most active societies in college
Dislikes
- The placement process could have been made more accurate for the students by bringing in profiles of not only one specific domain but also domains relevant to all students to apply to, besides increasing the number of companies coming on campus
Course Curriculum Overview
I belonged to a Commerce background and always wanted to move on with my career in the same domain itself, hence chose to go forward with pursuing B.Com (Hons.). The faculty here is quite qualified and have pursued master's or completed their Ph.D. The course followed a semester pattern with each semester of roughly 3 months.
Placement Experience
The placement process usually commences from the fifth semester onwards and the interested students are added to a group and placement opportunities are regularly posted there, besides also conducting an internship and job fair for all students to apply to.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure across Delhi University is made quite affordable for eligible students to apply to any of the courses and in that terms provides a good ROI as compared to the other private institutions. There were no Scholarships.
Campus Life
The campus life at college is quite happening, due to the active presence of a number of clubs and events taking place all around the year, be it Debating, dramatics, music, photography, or socially active clubs. Books are available in the library.
Admission
For seeking admission to B.Com (Hons.) at Sri Aurobindo College, University of Delhi, one had to clear a minimum set percentage cut-off as secured in Grade 12, which was around 92% minimum. Post this, the admissions committee would head on toward the document and domicile verification process. If a candidate clears all the aforementioned criteria, he/she is offered admission to the course. However, this process stood valid only until last year, post which the students would be admitted to any specific course at Delhi University based on their CUET (a common entrance exam score and percentile. The only improvement which can be added to the admission process is the addition of an interview round, which can assess a student beyond their academics and test scores and can decide whether or not the student is a good fit for the college environment.
