Course Curriculum Overview

3

I have chosen this course because i am aiming for civil services in future so it would be better to know about each subject .The curriculum is very similar to what i need to do in future or for my future exam preparations it better to start from the basics and then slowly advance to the other level.I need history and economics for my civil services exam and it does have all the required concepts that i can apply later .The areas that i would like to improve would be in history as you can easily get distracted in it also, you get bored easily so they should try different interactive methods with students to maintain their interests. The examination is of medium difficulty level not too easy also not too hard in most of the subject if you have studied well and attended most of the classes. The main exam is occured at the end of the semester , the paper are taken continuously without any day gap mostly. There are also many class tests and presentations for the continuous assessment.

Internships Opportunities

3

Not many big internship offers are available in our college but i have done one paid internship as that internship was of sales from Younity company .I will be paid 10 % of my sales of thecourses that were provided under it that was my stipend and some free courses were given after you pass certain target. The certificate of completion and LOR together was also given after you have done sales of 10,000 rupees. The internship also taught about mock interviews to get job in other companies , how to develop your personality etc. We have to sell these courses to people and then according we get our stipend and certificates.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fees that we have to pay in my course is of 12,410 rupees. The process of registration is through CUET that is of 250-300 for general category , for SC-ST you have to pay 100 rupees. The examination fees for all courses is different and there is extra fees of 100-200 for labs or practical subject .For B.A prog the fees was of 1100 rupees with no labs but for the B.Com prog was of 1300 rupees. There are also scholarships for single girl child and also there are different scholarship departmentwise.eg BSC life science department scholarship was of 350 rupees monthly but if other department members applied for the same they were given 100 rupees monthly. The scholarship are also available for students whose parents income less than 8 lakh annually. Also , on the basis of CGPA if your CGPA is high .Under DU there are many scholarships for under priviledged people to help them.

Campus Life

Recently our freshers was held by our student union in the month of February. In March our college annual fest is going to happen. Our library is of normal size not to big but it still have many books on different subjects and many other varieties. The classrooms don't have any special technological provisions. Many sports happen in our college like kabaddi , badminton etc. Many sovieties are their that you can join to pursue your hobbies or interests like fashion , singing, dancing , painting, culture, buisness etc .Most of students join these societies according to their interests with their studies even there are competition with other colleges to improve students and grow or nuture their talents.Msny students also work for NGO's to help under priviledged chlidren to distribute food and other things. These thing help needy people and also make each student a nice human being with good heart not only education is give but personality is also nourished here.

Admission

I am in DU but the DU has many colleges under it and my college is one of them. I have applied for other colleges also but we can choose which college we want to go ourself it happens through CUET after that we get our college through our preference list and marks.I also got choosen in BHU and many other ones but choose this to get new experience and wider perspective about things as Delhi is very popular and people want to study here .I didn't get selected to other colleges under DU that was on my preference list was due to the cut off as cutt off for DU north campus university are very high and seats are less also many seats are reserved and there are quotas also. The cut off for South Campus are in between 650-550 that's how i get my college. The the admission occurs in rounds you can upgrade if you are not satisfied with your college but at one point you cannot upgrade as per your marks that is the suitable colkege you can get.CUET is the most preffered exam and to get into big government universities you have to give this .There are also universities that give admissions without CUET many private universities come under this category.

Faculty

B.A faculty as much i have experienced until now is great the plus point of our college is our faculty .All the professors are very well mannered and knowledgeable in their own fields . Most of the faculty is very approachable and you can easily ask about your problems and concerns. My Economics faculty is great i like how they explain the concept and review everything in such a easy manner .We also have side subjects like SEC ,VAC they are to develop skills and abilities in students . I have so far liked all the faculty just as most of the people find history boring as it has so many stories but the professors are nice so we don't get too bored but sometimes we feel sleepy. There are continuous assessments, class tests but only one main semester examination at the end of the semester.Mostly students pass as the examination is of medium level you can find economics a little bit difficult if you didn't have maths in 12 th.The course curriculum is also very nicely arranged the have started from basics and then the difficulty rises or the course is advanced semester by semester.

Night Life

3

Our college have morning and evening classes so it's safe in night also as classes are taken in evening until 7 so students roam there also its in the main city center so its mostly crowded also there is school behind and police station nearby just 5 min distance .Our college canteen serves delicious and affordable food so mostly we eat there our just outside the college building there are many cafes infront of it so we go there to hang out .Also, there a park just 2 min distance from our college we sit there and play games there. Our college don't have it's own hostel so tge students mostly live in pg or flats. We also have reading room so we can take book from library and can read in the reading room peacefully.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Arts

I am in DU but DU has many colleges and i have also applied for other colleges under DU .It's just that you cannot choose college yourself you have to firstly give CUET and then fill up your preference list then you get one of the colleges that you have f

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral). My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
