Course Curriculum Overview

3

I choose this course because i had interest in maths and i was passionate about it. The faculty to ratio in daulat ram college is a bit bad but the faculty is nice. Every college have some good and some bad faculty and soo does DRC have but it is okay. The term exams did not had much holidays in between and it was kind of difficult to pass in the first semester because our 1st sem was of only 3 months and that too many subjects were increased and new policies were introduced.

Internships Opportunities

3

I have not yet applied for internships as i have joined it just 2 months ago. I cant give u the exat infor regarding this. I think it would be better if i explore this field first and then tell u about it.

Placement Experience

3

From 5th semester the students get eligible for placements. As i am a fresher i have very little idea about this field of our college so i would rather choose not telling u anything about this because i myself do not know much.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is not that high and the cost to study is less if u stay in delhi or nearby otherwise if u are coming from far away and will stay in some pg or hostel then it will be a little costlier. As i am just a fresher so i have not yet applied for any scholarship and i am not eligible to get any job right now.

Campus Life

3.5

Manjari is called as the annual fest of daulat ram college. There is abundance of books in our library and i guess the best thing in DRC is its library itself. Classrooms are big and spacious however the fruniture is not good in some of the classrooms. The college have many societies and also have ncc unit so they also focus on sports and extra curricular activites.

Admission

I gave Cuet examination for my course. The eligibity to pursue maths hons from delhi university was to give examination in mathematics and any other 3 subjects. To find the application form one should visit cuet.samarth.in, all the information regarding the dates, fees and syllabus are given there. I want to see some improvements in the admission process such as more hassel free process, as cuet was done for the first time this year so there were many things that did not went smoothly. I just hope that this year it goes smoothly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Exams are only held once per semester, the IA marks are based on class tests, presentations, lab work and attendance. The syllabus and core curriculum are the same for all the DU colleges. Relevance pretty much depends on you; if you know what you signed up for and prepare accordingly, I can't see a reason why someone would find it irrelevant. Although some elective subjects (like sec and vac) might serve some outdated or irrelevant methods because they're newly introduced, and many DU colleges have this issue, but it's not extreme, some efforts from your side and some from the college's can ovecome this.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as highly relevant and fairly comprehensive especially for the students inclined towards applied science and technology. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between the theoretical understanding and the practical application, supported by well equipped laboratories and project based assessments. The inclusion of skill enhancement course and the discipline elective papers provides felxibility and helps students explore interdisciplinary areas. but there is still a room for improvement in making the styllabus more industry oriented, such as integrating internships and live projects and workshops with industry partners to enhance pratical exposure. exams are also prepared in a way that simply memorizing the concept won't help rather deep understanding of the subjects would be needed that is they are much more aplication of comcept oriented. with consistent preparation you can perform well.

The placements cell Avenues regarding the placement offers coming to the college. Major companies of the job market come to the campus for recruitment like KPMG, deloitte, zepto, EY, ZS Associates and many more. The students from the final year itself gets eligible for placements. Around 30-40% students get the palcements through the placement drive. The highest package during the last palcement season was around 18 to 20LPA, while the average was 7 to 8LPA. I will certainly go for higher studies in operational research.

The course curriculum is aligned with the today's requirements but it could be better. More practical than theoretical knowledge should be taught and industry level knowledge should be provided. End sems are mainly conducted in dec-jan and may-june months and timings differ shiftwise. Morning times are 9:30 pm to 12:30 pm and afternoon timings are 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
