Likes

Location- Hauz Khas, well connected by metro and a hub for many happening places nearby
Greenery in campus (well maintained plants and flowers)
Courses- unique, interesting and emerging courses

Dislikes

No big ground for athletics, other sports
less focus on extracurricular activities compared to academics
nothing else to dislike, college is nice :)

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is unique and not offered by many colleges. Food processing and packaging is a booming industry, so the scope of this course was high, hence I chose it. Faculty to student ratio is great with about 8-9 faculty for a class of 45 students, So around 1:5. The faculty are highly qualified, with PhDs, and have on-field experience in the industry as well. The term exams happen at the end of each semester, and passing is not difficult if preparations are adequate.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 29000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is decent. The course is costlier compared to other courses offered by the University of Delhi as a lot of laboratory work, hands-on learning, and practicals and research are integral features of this course. NO financial assistance/ scholarship applies in my case.

Campus Life

The annual cultural fest is Feria. conducted usually in February or March. Books and journals of all courses are available in the library which is accessible to all. Many societies and extracurricular activities are active in the college including quizzes, debate, literature, poetry, writing, social work, dance, theatre, classical music, art, fashion as well sports like Basketball, badminton, Taekwondo, and on-campus gym.

Admission

Applying on the Delhi University Admissions Portal and applying to the college based on the cut-off percentage was the primary procedure. The Application forms, fees and date were all available online by a simple Google Search. No reservation benefits availed. Admission process was smooth, no improvement requisite as such.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placements after second year or even third year. Companies like Google, Deloitte, KPMG, HDFC Bank, Maruti Suzuki, McKinsey, etc visited our college for placements and recieved over 200 placement offers in the latest year 2025. Highest package of Hindu College is 36.5 LPA and the average package is 11.4 LPA. Hindu College has a high placement rate of 95% of eligible students securing a placement here. My plan is to prepare for UPSC or SSC-CGL after my degree.

My choice for B.Sc. Hons Food Technology in this college was not due to limited options but instead of that I knew what career choices I wanted to make for the life that I manifest. I was getting admission in various other courses of different colleges but still I chose what was right for my career. The Institute of Home Economics- new but a legacy soon

It was not like that I wasn't getting admission in other colleges except this one but the chice that I made was majorly due to the career planning that I had done in the early stages. I chose this college because of the advanced facilities it provide and also it is easier to commute for me to the college and back to my home and vice versa. Everything you needaa know about your college.

I chose this college as it it ranked in the top 3 amongst the other 8 DU colleges which has this course. Also, the location i find it too convinient for me. This college has very limited courses so there are decent number of children. I got confirmed admission from Gargi College also but that college has a bad reputation for things.
