The admission process starts with CAT on the last Sunday of every month. The eligibility for CAT is 50+ percent in 10th, 12th, and graduation. After the CAT a Group discussion or written ability test along with a Personal Interview will be conducted. After the personal Interview, a composite score will be generated based on the 10th,12th, Graduation, work experience, and Interview performance of the candidate. The score will be used to allow the shortlists and the cut-off for general category students is 92 percentile minimum overall and 70 plus percentile in each section.

The faculty members of IIM Trichy are very experienced and most of them have completed their Research work from many prominent IITs and IIMs. The faculty: student ratio on the campus is 1:10. The teaching pedagogy is case-based and the students are provided with pre-reads before each class. One has to go through the pre-reads before coming to the class and discussions on the case happen in the classes. The exams are usually conducted as per the schedule and the question paper and evaluation are very difficult.

The fee structure is 18 lakhs for the entire course. The fees include the course fees, mess, hostel, books, and exam fees. The bank in the college provides collateral-free education loans to the students. Even the PGPM office floats scholarships by various organizations to the entire batch. The fee hike policy is usually unknown to outsiders. Only the PGPM office knows about the fee hike policy.

The campus life of IIM Trichy is extraordinary. There are 12 student clubs and 13 student committees. The annual fest of IIM Trichy Dhruva is usually conducted in the final week of January. Apart from the annual fest, the business conclave Nishtha and the Leadership Conclave Daksha are also conducted. The sports facilities at IIM Trichy are excellent. There are facilities for all the sports including a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. The campus has the best learning resource center in the country. The classrooms are made based on the Harvard classroom designs and consist of all the modern amenities.

The hostel facilities aren't very great. The rooms are occupied by 2 people and the rooms feel congested. The rooms have AC, a study table, a mirror, white board, cupboards, and an almirah. Every floor consists of a water dispenser and the bathrooms have geysers. All the hostels are well secured and monitored and the hostels have 24 x 7 electricity and water supply.

The Admission process includes Group Discussion/ Written Ability test followed by a Personal Interview. Due to the pandemic, the Group Discussion and the Written Ability test were discarded and only personal interviews were conducted online. The interviews are usually Stress Interviews which test the ability of the student to handle the stress. The interviews cover various aspects from the SOP of the student, Current affairs, questions related to the work experience, and questions from the undergraduate. The interview performance plays a vital role in the selection of the candidate.
