Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

CHS is the best department for doing master's and PhD in history in India. Historians like Bipin Chandra, Romila Thapar, and Aditya Mukherjee have been faculty members here so did a master's here has always been my dream. There is 1 professor for every 7-10 students in master's. there are two tutorial+discussions instead of term papers which accumulate 50 marks and one end sem exam takes place for every course for 50 marks.

Internships Opportunities

I have applied for the Gandhi fellowship and already had two interviews and am waiting for the third round. I am planning to join a blogging site where I will be sharing my experience in JNU we have been collecting books for library establishments in some areas.

5

Freshers and farewells take place every year and are generally organised by first-year master's students. CHS has its own library and we can also take books from the Central Library of JNU. JNU internet ID provides access to many sites like Sagepub, jstor etc. classes have PCs and Projectors and sound systems there are many clubs and social groups like the women of CHS, and history society. there is a student-edited journal from CHS.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course that I opted for is Political Science and it is very relevant to the exam that I am preparing for. I often take help of the online material they provide. It is often recommended curriculum for UPSC/MPSC/political journalism. However they need to provide teachers or short video lectures do that the course become comprehensive.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant and covers all the history topics comprehensively. The study material is very good as many upsc aspirants and students preparing for competitive exams refer it. Though the curriculum can be improved by limiting and only adding the essential topics in it. There is too much of unnecessary information which makes it difficult to understand at times.
