Remarks

You can get admission through the Wbjee scorecard and counseling. According to your rank, you will get the stream in the college, if you have a reservation then you will get other benefits of a reserved seat. The admission process is so clear and I had no issue with that.

Course Curriculum Overview

I had a great interest in electricity and magnetism so I opted for this course and basically, electrical engineering has vast exposure all over the world. The faculty-student ratio is 1:12. Teachers are well-educated enough to teach B.Tech students here and they also have indulged in research areas. we have a semester of 6months, and in that period we have to pass two internals and one final exam. The difficulty level is moderate.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 30000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Cognizant technology solutions, Nihilent technologies private limited, Wipro Limited, HCL technologies private limited and many other companies offer internships and full-time offers. About the project, I have the worst experience. In the final year due to the Covid situation, our batch didn't get that much help from our teachers and we had to learn by ourselves.

Placement Experience

6th semester is the best time to start your placement preparation. 4-5 big MNCs visit there. From every department, almost 20 people get placed. 70% of placement statistics are there. I plan to go for a job as soon as I have graduated.

Fees and Financial Aid

For EE, CE, ME 3000/- per semester, For CSE and ECE 6000/- per semester. You can easily apply for the swami Vivekananda scholarship if the terms and conditions match. I was able to get a 60k scholarship per year and finally managed to get a job.

Campus Life

The big grand fest Esperanza is held here. There is a big library on our campus. There is a big 11 side football ground and all kinds of sports we arrange every year. Mostly football and cricket and volley. Drama clubs, coding clubs, and gaming clubs are there.

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
