IIIT Kota: A Brief Walkthrough

I took JEE MAINS exam in 2020. Got into this college on the basis of my rank in the exam during JoSAA. With a percentile of around 97.5, I got the ECE branch. The documents were submitted online due to COVID.

All the faculty members are well qualified. The curriculum structure is laid out before the semester begins and gets completed well before the final exams. Faculties always accept and solve the doubts of the students with grace.

A lot of students do internships in various companies during the latter half of their degree. Companies like Flipkart and Google are joined by various students and are offered a handsome stipend as well. These internships help them with the placements later.

The placement rate for all the branches is well above 90%. The average and median packages are around 10 lakh. The college takes great care of its students' placements and tries to call all the reputed companies and MNCs. The highest package varies yearly and last year it was around 40 packages on campus.

I felt the few were a little high. I checked the fee for other colleges and universities of the same level and theirs' were a tad lower. The placements are quite good and a lot of well-known companies are called. The placement staff is really helpful as well. Overall great career opportunities. I'm still studying and hopeful for a good placement.

There are some college fests that happen once a year. The most celebrated one is the Intra College Sports Festival which lasts for 3-4 days and consists of many sports both indoors and outdoors. There are a lot of clubs and societies too for arts, fests, science, etc.

The hostel room is provided with a fan, tube light, personal closet, and 24×7 electricity. There are both single-sitter and dual-sitter rooms. I reside in the dual sitter. The room is spacious and easily accommodates us both. There's a WiFi facility and canteen too.

I didn't face any interviews or written tests for admission. Was selected on the basis of my MAINS performance but there were a few extracurricular activities after the admission to make students more comfortable and open for campus life. Though all of that happened online due to COVID it still was helpful.
