SUMMARY ABOUT IIIT KOTA

The major reason why is chose this program is it is about technology the currciulum is quite relevant but still there are a few extra subjects such as maths digital design and digital design lab which do not seem relevant to the course and even though the curriculum is relevant we still have to study alot from ourselves for placement from youtube or any other resouce available there are a lot of areas where it can be imrpoved such as we still have to our programming exam on notebook but we practice it on out laptops all the time the curriculum can be more pratical rather than being theoretical that being said the currciculum is mainly focused about learning rather than placement which is good for soemone who wants to pursue higher education in this field exams are helf twice per semester and between endsem and midsem we have a very little time for preparation the labs exam often start in 20-25 days after midsem which hampers our studies for different skills but since they are not much difficult we can easily score good by studying one week before exams

i don't know much about internship opportunity here but everyone seems to find some sort of inntership since there's a strong coding culture. this year VISA visited us for internship but alot of internships are off campus but there are plenty of opportunities if you're good enough since seniors and teachers are always there to help us.

the placement scenario of my college is imrpoving every year but it was still not as good as it was when we were at MNIT jaipur campus given the placement of last year but this year it seems to have imrpoved by a lot since there are much more companies visiting our campus this year the few companies visited are NVIDIA, VISA, E-SARAL, AMAZON, MEESHO, MYNTRA etc nvidia offered a 65lpa package and esaral offered 3 35LPA package the packages of other companies are not revealed yet. the highest package this year is 1CR+ but it's an off campus placement the highest on campus placement is 65 lpa by NVIDIA there are around 80% students getting placed every year inclduing on campus and off campus both few goes for higher studies such as M.TECH or MBA but there's stilla good amount of people getting placed every year out of which 40-50% are onn campus. my plans are to get a placement after college then if i get the opportunity and right consition then i might pursue M.TECH and PHD in foreign country

The tution fees for every sem is 90000 for gen/ews/obc and 72000 for sc/st/pwd there's a caution fees of 10000 admission fees of 10000 alumni associate membership fees of 2000 I'd card fees of 125 and final degree certificate fees of 1500 to be paid by everyone in 1st sem only There's institute developer fee of 5000 Library and book bank fees of 2500 internet charge of 2500 sports fee of 1500 creative arts fees of 1500 student welfare fee of 2500 examining fees of 1000 training and placement fees of 1500 and lab charges of 2000 to be paid by everyone every semester 1000 rupees house keeping fee every sem for everyone and 800 insurance fees to be paid by everyone in 1st sem only Only sc st and pwd students get 20% wavier on tution fees and scholarship are only government policies and state policy

the campus facilities are very poor here there's only one cultural fest GARBA GRAVITY helf around navrantri there's no technical fest. the library is poor too it only has a few books other than college books and even college books are not in enough quantity to cater to the needs of all students. there're still chalkboard in class so there are no facilities there it's just like a basic classroom. the sports facacilties are non existent there's only one cricket grounf and even that's not maintained and there are no other sports facillities. there are quite a few clubs but they are not very active othen than technical clubs which keeps going to hackathons etc

The hostel facility for 1st year students are very bad due to overcrowding and no proper maintainence but it gets better with 2nd year since there are only two people per room then and only one person from 3rd year onwards everyone eats in the same mess which is often poor the meal has no taste and snacks are given in very low quantity there are often insects in meals . the hostel registration is pretty straightforward and it's quite affordable since it's only 38k per sem and 52k for 1st sem . there are a few people who rented a pg but they all live in main kota city which is approx 11km away

i applied for IIIT BHOPAL, IIIT RANCHI, IIIT PUNE, IIITSONIPAT, MNIT JAIPUR, NITK SURTHAKAL, NIT TRICHY, NIT AGARTALA, NIT SILCHAR, NIT DELHI i was getting admission in almost every college but i wanted CSE so i cound'nt go to NIT TRICHY, NITK SURTHAKAL, MNIT JAIPUR, NIT SILCHAR and NIT DELHI since i was not getting CSE in any of these colleges and i didn't want to settle for lower core branches i was CSE in IIIT BHOPAL IIIT SONIPAT but there's no hostel facility so i skipped them i was getting CSE in NIT AGARTALA but i didn't want to go so far away from home in northeast IIIT KOTA had better placement stats than IIIT RANCHI and PUNE so i chose it over them. i faced rejection from multiple college but it was based on my JEE rank. My college take admission only on the basis of JEE and GATE score it's about 98% in jee mains for CSE with GEN category and 97% for ECE and same for AIDE branch there are not much M.TECH students in the college since there's only one specialization there's no exam other than JEE and GATE to get admission in this college

The faculty t student ratio is rather bad in the college there're only 10 permanent faculty who often works as deans due to which they're always busy in meetings and have no time to take classes the guest faculty is often young and inexperienced in their subjects some are teaching for first time which is not acceptable given that it's a institute of national importance but the guest faculty are more easily approachable compared to permanent faculty the faculty is rather friendly to students with a few students only a few teacher strictly follow 75% attendance criteria while the others are lineat The best faculty is easily ram ranjan mahto sir he's very friendly with everyone he's always there to guide us in everything The worst faculty I would say is prashant goyal sir he's very arrogant and often gives us lesser marks in exams which damages our cgpa compared to other batches There're only 2 exams per semester mid sem and end sem which are rather easy you can easily score good in them by studying just one week before exams but still a good amount of students fail to clear the exams especially in maths The courses in curriculum are quite relevant starting from 1st sem itself but there're still some extra courses we have to study like upnayan and digital design which are not so relevant In CSE digital design also has a lab which is quite tedious and is only for 1 credit other than that we have alot maths courses which do not feel relevant at all and only increases work load per semester

there's no gym. there's only one small canteen which is often overcrowded and takes too much time to give our orders and it closes around 3 am the library closes around 11pm along with the whole academic block. there are no hostel timing for boys but girls have to get inside by 9pm. the campus timing is around 11pm but you can come in anytime at night. there are no famous hangout placed inside or outside campus other than canteen or a small cafe which is outside the campus and the locality is not safe at night since there's nothing around campus but trees
