Remarks

The admission process was quite complex for me as Delhi University has always been famous for its academics, admission process and its crowd. It's an institution where students from all around the world come to complete their higher studies. My experience was quite complex as I got 93% in my 12th class but still, it was in the third cutoff that I got admission. Delhi University admission forms could be easily found on their official website. The eligibility criteria for all courses differ. However basic criteria are of passing the 12th standard with flying colours. Delhi University provides reservations to backward classes and they got a very good advantage from it. Their cutoff is slightly low from the unreserved ones and they also got a preference over the unreserved ones. Delhi University requires slight improvement in its admission process unreserved ones should also be taken care of and the merit system should be changed.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen Political Science(Hons.) for my graduation, Political Science was the subject which I have always liked. It's just I followed my passion as I always wanted to pursue Politics. At Delhi University the student ratio is slightly high one class consist of even 80-90 students. The faculty of Delhi University is also good as high-profile teachers are there. Also, Ad-hoc teachers are there to complete their training. The teaching method is also good as uses projectors and auditoriums and even goes for study trips. In Delhi University semester exams happens which means term-wise exams and class test are frequent and regular in the university. Exams are not that difficult it is easy to pass but the checking is quite strict.

Fees and Financial Aid

As Delhi University is a government institution so fees are not that high. It's an average of 12000 per year. Also, the hikes are not that high. The cost to study is manageable and students can study at Delhi University easily. DU provides aid and assistance to its students in the form of scholarships and Financial aid. Students of backward caste are provided with income-based scholarships and aids while others are provided with meritorious scholarships. Also, internships are provided to final-year students with a stipend of an average of 10000 per month. The placement cell is also good as the university is attached to some very good companies like CHEGG, Colgate, HDFC, KPMG, Deloitte etc.

Campus Life

Delhi University is very much famous for its fest where students put all their efforts to make it happen and also University provide all its students with all the help they require. One of the best fests is TARANG, MECCA etc. The library of the university is very good. It's very spacious, quiet, peaceful and soothing where the availability of books is at its best. The classes are very good with well-furnished desks and benches and other facilities like a whiteboard, projectors are also there. Delhi University is very much famous for its extra curricular activities where sports, Dancing, Singing etc. happen with so much enthusiasm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is something that can have improvements. For example I am studying C++ in my computer minor class which is becoming less and less relavent as compared to a lamguage like python. Alot of job prospects require students to know a language like R so I feel things like that should be taught so that the course cam make a student more real world ready.

My course is on a difficult side . There are subjects like statistics and maths which are too practical and hard . But this opens my mind towards practical approaches. Moreover the demand for this course is much more then its related courses like bcom and bba.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course requires a lot of analytical and logical thinking. The scope is quite wide in my course without having any professional degree too like research, analytics, finance manager etc. This course gives opportunity to gain applied skills and as we are dealing with quantitaive aspects our statistics also gets better with time. Few improvements which i would like suggest are that their should more practical and real life knowledge, currently it is very theoritically heavy. Teaching online softwares must be compulsoury so that we remain updated with technology.

Placements of my college are pretty good. The placement cell of my college is pretty active and facilitataes the placement process. Companies like Deloitte, EY and PWC often come to our college for placements with the average package being Rs. 8,00,000. After getting this degree, i will pursure another degree in MBA or I might also take a part in the placement process and pursue an MBA later. Students in semester 6 and further can take part in the placement process but there are internship fairs and summer internship programmes for students who are not eligible for placements

I have a keen interest in pursuing in Economics field as a career and hence my degree perfectly aligns with my career goals The curriculum is not very effective when we talk aboht the real world exposure however it is very good for further academic pursuits The curriculum could be a bit more practical based where we get exposure to the real industry as well. The exams are held twice in an year. The difficulty level is moderate
