Remarks

Admission is through XAT. Application form at xat online. Around 2000 application fees. The last date to apply is around 30 November. No reservation is applicable. The admission process is long and rigorous comprising of XAT, GD, interview, and profile evaluation( internal).

Course Curriculum Overview

One of the best colleges in the country. Huge average and median salary. Excellent faculty and alumni network. Excellent facilities. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:20. Most faculty are ph. D. Regular exams and quizzes and the level of the exams are on the tougher side.

Internships Opportunities

More than 100 companies visit for internships with 100% placements and an average of 1.54 LPM. All sorts of roles from consulting, sales and marketing, finance, and operation roles are offered to the students and these generally happen in September.

Placement Experience

One of the Best campus placements in the country with an average of 31 LPA, generally final placements are held in the final trimester. All major companies visit the campus including the mbb. The highest placement goes to 70 LPA and 100% placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Around 30 lakhs total fees for the course. Many scholarships are available. Loans from banks are easily available. Best campus jobs in the country with an average of 31 LPA. Almost all recruiters visit the campus. Need cum merit-based scholarships also available for students.

Campus Life

Great campus life and crowd. Ensemble Valhalla is the annual fest that takes place in November, the biggest in East Asia. Huge library with all physical and digital resources. Hostel Facilities

Rooms are well furnished and equipped with all amenities. Meals are good and regular. The hostel and mess are quite affordable and the mess food is decent. No nearby rental facilities are available. Hostel rooms are large enough to accommodate students.

Life at XLRI

Course Curriculum Overview:

The HR course was quite comprehensive. Lots of subjects were dedicated to different functionalities of HR. Lots of focus on Law, and employee benefits, worker rights and employer responsibility. The course boasts of some of the stalwarts of the industry teaching different courses such as the Professor who teaches compensation is responsible for designing the compensation structure over at HUL. It's very comprehensive, and periodically reviewed to remain relevant to the changing times

The admission was done on the basis of the CAT entrance exam. I applied for the admission online and after my application was shortlisted, I took the written test conducted by the college which was followed by the group discussion and personal interview.

Remarks:

The infrastructure of our college is very good. The campus life was great too, we have a good library updated to a digital library, labs, counseling center, ATM, etc. The film society used to run film shows at the weekend which was awesome.

Life at XLRI

The admission process was very smooth. I sat for XAT and scored around 90 percentile with my lowest sectional percentile in DM at 73 percentile which just crossed the sectional cutoff of 72 percentile. I got an interview call which I had to select the slot for. Once selected, and online meeting was scheduled, and on the day of the interview I had 3 panelists (all male). The interview lasted for about 20 mins with questions spanning from why MBA to hobbies, interests and some technical questions based on past work ex. Once the interviews concluded the results were announced under 2 months and I was wait listed. XAT was in some ways a tough exam to crack, especially the DM section. XLRI HRM - In and Out

The eligibility is graduation in any stream. The admission process is available on the college website. You have to score good percentile in XAT exam so that you can get a call for the interviews and then, if your interview is good, you can convert your call and secure admission. Now they have started GD PI also, and interview process is no more virtual. The application fees is somewhere between Rs 2500/- and Rs 3000/-. The XAT exam is very similar to CAT and it tests you on your verbal ability, decision making and quantitative aptitude. My experience at XLRI Jamshedpur

XLRI takes admission through the XAT examination followed by a GDPI. The overall cutoff for XAT is roughly around 95 percentile. This cutoff is the minimum eligibility for qualifying for the GDPI. The application fee is around 2000 INR and the form generally opens from June-July until the first week of December and the exam is held in the first week of January.
