Course Curriculum Overview
I preferred to choose this course just for my interest in the subject and also as it is a vast subject in which we learn many facts and realities about our country, world, earth and the universe. It is quite an interesting subject. In our college we get a ratio of 1: 20 in some cases while in one of my cases it was 1:80. But I must say that the faculty is very good, helpful and knowledgeable. We have semester exams i.e. once in 6 months which are neither too hard nor too easy to pass.
Placement Experience
We don't have campus placement in our college. But students after completing the course can pursue GIS officers, Geographers, cartographers, Demographers, Forest managers, etc. Companies like TERI, Geological Survey of india and Mausam Vibhag had offered placements. The highest package was 12LPA and lowest 4.5LPA. But only 2-5% of students get placement. After my graduation I'm going to pursue post graduation in geography only.
Fees and Financial Aid
Well, the fees were the same as 45000 for the complete course. There were few scholarships offered to the students from minorities or lower castes or Pwd category. I didn't apply for any job on campus.
Campus Life
We have an annual fest in the month of April like 'Priyadarshini' in 2022. We have other departmental events and fests too. In our college Library we have thousands of books to read from literature to subject books also book issuing facility is also available. Talking about the classroom we have proper windows, blackboard, podium, wooden benches, fans, and lights. College provides facilities and opportunities for co-curricular activities and sports too such as painting, dancing, football, Archery, basketball, etc. There are many social groups and clubs run by the students like the Rotaract club of Dyal Singh College, Environment-friendly society, etc.
