Remarks

We had to write the KEAM Entrance exam for admission. Eligibility is 75% in plus two science subjects. The application form was easily available online and the application fee was 700 INR. Yeah, I received reservation benefits like I was Muslim and I got a seat in the MU category. The entrance exam was moderately tough mostly based on Plus Two. I got a 24k rank and I was still able to get into a government college in a decent course. The admission process went smoothly although we had a refund issue which is solved after almost a year. Getting into a govt college is not that of a challenge, because I attended the exam without any preparation and still managed to get a seat in a government engineering college. About my college. I would rate it 7/10. The only problem is the placement. Placement cell is gradually improving sonI don't think that won't be an issue when I graduate. The college is situated quite far from the town so transportation is an issue. Hostel facilities are excellent and affordable

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

My passion was to be an engineer. The ECE engineering department has high scopes for the future and also I loved electronics since I was a kid. There are almost 50 faculties in our department. They are well-mannered except for a few. Some Sir are strict about attendence shortage. Teaching quality depends. Some teachers teach quite well while others suck. Overall it's not bad. There are about 500 students in our department. The faculties are well qualified, to be honest. But some of their teaching methods are not good. Like they teach topics exam oriented only. Partially due to lack of time because of the short sem due to Covid. We have series exams twice a semester based on which internals are published. Labs are well furnished and workshops are good. There are a few renovations going on still in some labs

Placement Experience

1.5

We become eligible for campus placement from the third year onwards. I m my second year. Highest offered is 10 lakh per annum. Almost 15 per cent of students get placed in good companies. Others are hired into startups. I have a well-defined goal. I have a company in mind that I want to work in. But before that, I hope to get placed in a company for work experience

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual tuition fee is 6800. It's quite affordable. There are concessions for the poor or lower class. It's quite affordable. We have to pay exam fees every sem and another library fee, bus fees etc. Total fees won't' go above 15000 a year. Government hostel with great food, non-veg almost 7 servings a week and monthly fees up to 2700. Very affordable. I got the MCM scholarship which is 12000 for a year. There are many other charity clubs which pay for students who can't afford it.

Campus Life

3.5

Annual sports fest and all. There are almost two fests a month. Tech fest did not go well due to Covid. We are excited about it for next month. The library is not fully digitalized. Books and study materials are available there. The classroom has clipboards, projectors etc. Classrooms, labs, workshops, and seminar halls are digitalized. We have a gym and a small Table tennis hall on our campus. The ground is small compared to other colleges due to landslides we lost half the ground last during the 2021 flood. NSS clubs and other art clubs are present. Cycle clubs are also present. A canteen, store and an ATM are also present on our campus. I like the weather mostly in our college. Foggy weather during noon. I hate the heat and have skin allergies so even if I get a better college somewhere, I won't abandon this college present in the middle of tea plantations and has a particular ambience to it.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There is a government hostel for mens and ladies separately. Seats for second years are quite limited here. I got in during first year. We have non veg 7-8 servings a week. Breakfast, lunch, tea with snack during afternoon and dinner at night. During Ramadhan, we have facilities for ifthar and suhoor. And the maximum bill for food is 2500. If we take leave we will get mess cut also. Private hostels here are quite expensive and food there is not the best too. So everyone here has a dream of getting into government hostel. Hostel allotment is based on rank of the previous exam, distance from home and category. Hostel faculties are well mannered and our warden is quite disciplined. Mess are well maintained. And sweeper daily clean the corridors and toilet.
