You have cleared the west Bengal joint entrance exam It's on wbjee. nic. in website Application fees for examination are 500 rs It usually happens Jan-mar Some sit for st, sc, OBC- A, OBC-B is reserved No admission process is absolutely fine

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I have an interest in the electronics field. There is 1 teacher for every 15 students The faculty is enough qualified. Terms exam was quite difficult to pass. one must have to be prepared properly

Internships Opportunities

There are not so many opportunities for internships. But companies like TCS, and Cognizant provided some internships. There is also Internshala where you can get opportunities for internships. So you can say internship opportunities are not so good.

Placement Experience

From the 5th sem students are eligible for Campus placement. Companies like TCS, IBM, and Cognizant visited last year. Approx 150 offers were made. The highest package is 7 lakh and the average is 5 Lakh. More than 60 per cent of students get placed. I will appear for CAT.

Fees and Financial Aid

You have to pay 6000 for each semester. It is tuition fees. So you have to pay 12000 per year. Also, you have to pay 1200 as an examination fee during the semester. Swami Vivekananda merit cum means, Oasis, NSP etc scholarships are available

Campus Life

This year's annual fest didn't organize because of covid19. There are available books for students in the library and some journal. Amenities in the classroom is good. wifi also available in classrooms. There is every type of sport like football, and cricket. Annual sports event also organised. NSS, GDSC, etc are available

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. I have also given CUET for pursuing M. Tech

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

A GOOD COLLEGE WITH GOOD PLACEMENT , SPORTS FACILITY.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I applied in in the Government engineering colleges only and I cut conferred admission in this college. I choose this college over the others because I got the confirm admission in it. A brief overview of RKMGEC

The main reason students come to this college is because of the fact that fees are affordable and also this is purely government college. Admission process is quite easy you need all the necessary documents (Aadhar, Pan, etc) along with your WBJEE scorecard and rankcard. Other important fact to mention is that only students who are permanent resident of West Bengal can seek for admission. You need a domicile certificate for that....Read More

I applied for many other colleges like Jadavpur university, IEM but wasn't able to make ther with my rank and financial instability. I opted for RKMGEC because it offered a compeling mix of quality education,easy faculty and lowe tuition fees. The eligibility was based on west bengal joint entrance examination (WBJEE) scores with specific cutoffs which vary every year. I face rejection from a couple of other top tier colleges primarily due to high competition and slightly lower intense exams scores.
