A chance to understand IIIT Naya Raipur

The Admission is purely based on your JEE Mains rank. However, if you want to take part in counselling you need to pay an application fee. Then there are some Rounds in which they declare a list of eligible candidates and if your name comes on the list then you have to report and submit the documents. At this point, you also have to pay the admission fee for 1st Semester. Later if u wish to leave then they will return ur fees excluding the application charges.

The course curriculum is somewhat practical and includes important subjects in comparison to other colleges. But there are some boring subjects and useless too but we can avoid them. But one major issue with this college is it gets too hectic with time. Each semester we have 9 subjects and that too we have classes from 9 to 6 which makes. it is very difficult to maintain a balance. Also, each semester feels very rushed. But the college gives emphasis on IoT application.

Internships are offered to different students from outside companies. Many students are given opportunities via free lancing while others get it through some competition. I am not aware of the companies but I have known that most of the internships are focused on AI and ML. Other Internships are focused on cultural skills. Presently I am not doing any internship.

The campus placements are decent enough. Mostly majority of students are selected. The highest package was offered by Microsoft around 45 to 50 Lakhs. The campus has connections with different companies like TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, Google and more.

Each semester costs approx 1 lakh and 7 thousand including hostel and mess. The hostel is compulsory. The fee for the first semester is 1 Lakh and 25 Thousand. Total Fees is approx 9 to 10 Lakhs. Some students who have Caste reservations get scholarship opportunities. Since I am a General candidate I don't have an idea regarding the exact value but I do that there is some policy.

Campus life is not too exciting here. From time to time we get loads of assignments and quizzes. Each Month merely 2 to 3 events are conducted but they are not very interesting. The sports committee of IIIT NR is not too active. Although we have MUN and Ecell they conduct one good event once a year. The Library of IIIT NR is well equipped. There are loads of books on different topics and they get updated weekly. There is also sitting space for you to sit and study. Also, there is a computer system installed in Library. Not to mention there is a fast internet connection too. The classroom is decent with a capacity of 120 students. They too like the library have internet and AC.

Hostels in our college are mandatory. However, the scenario changes in the 2nd or 3rd year if u want to live in PG. In our hostel, we have a mess where food is served 4 times a day and the food quality is decent except on weekends. Most of the Menu contains South item dishes and a few Non-veg items. In the first year, a single room is provided for each student. The room is good enough. Also, we have common bathrooms which are cleaned regularly. We also have a badminton court (not so good) and a common room. In the common room, only TT Table and one TV is there.
