There is no comparison between IIIT Raipur and IIEST Shibpur for Engineering. IIEST Shibpur is a much older and well established college than IIIT Raipur. Being a student of IIEST Shibpur myself, I can confidently say that the college is much superior when it comes to engineering. IIEST offers decent placements due to its strong alumni network and reputation among people. According to recent placement statistics, many top recruiters visited during the placement drive including Microsoft, Vedanta, Wipro, Cognizant, Godrej, HSBC Technologies, and many others giving the highest package of INR 39 LPA. Lastly, we can say that though IIIT Raipur may be known for its brand it does not stand on the same ranking as the old engineering departments of IIEST. IIIT Naya Raipur has best campus!!

Fees and Financial Aid:

IIIT Nayapur Raipur is among the top IIITs of the country and fees is cheaper than quite a few others. Just 1.1 lakhs a semester and it was 1.01 lakhs the last year so an increase of 10% happened this year.

Year wise fees around 2.1lacs (odd+even sem) Semester fees around 1.04lacs which includes 75000 Tution fees, 1000 Registration Fees, 1000 Exam Fees, 500 Internet Fees, 600 Student Amenities, 250 SAC, Medical Insurance 1000, 1000 Laboratory Contigency, Hostel Rent 1500, Mess Fees 15000, 2500 Electricity, 2500 Hall Establishment. Yes all types of government funded scholarships are available and the fees for Sc/St varies.

Good coure like CSE with good updated courses.

Fees here is around 1 lakh for each semester i.e; 2 lakhs per year for general category students. I don't know about other category students. As this is govt Institute I think here tution fee is free for scheduled categories. And many scholarships are provided for chattisgarh students.

A chance to understand IIIT Naya Raipur

Each semester costs approx 1 lakh and 7 thousand including hostel and mess. The hostel is compulsory. The fee for the first semester is 1 Lakh and 25 Thousand. Total Fees is approx 9 to 10 Lakhs. Some students who have Caste reservations get scholarship opportunities. Since I am a General candidate I don't have an idea regarding the exact value but I do that there is some policy.

My Life at IIIT-NR

In comparison to other NITs and IITs, the tuition prices are lower. The expense of studying is relatively low. Many financial aid programmes exist, however they are restricted to certain states or low-income households. I was unable to receive financial aid since I did not fit into any of the categories. Students are eligible for campus placements (after the summer break of the third year). For the whole eighth semester, students must perform a six-month internship at a company. 45 firms came to our college for campus placements last year. The biggest on-campus offer was for 23 lakhs per year, with the average compensation being between 12 and 13 lakhs. Since our start, we have had a 100% placement rate.

College doesn't provide any scholarship to the BTech students but some state government provides the scholarship depending on the category of income. Although we can avail of an educational loan with the help of college.

My Life at IIIT Naya Raipur

The tuition fees is less as compared to other NITs and IITs. The cost to study is also minimal. There are many financial assistance schemes but they are limited to certain states/ low income families. I couldn't avail any financial assistance as I didn't fall into any of the categories. I got an off campus internship to work at Goldman Sachs this summer. They are giving me a stipend of 1 lakh per month for 2 months.

The State Bank of India provides the student loans at the time of joining with 0% interest up our college time later on we have to pay in terms of EMI or total money. The student who belongs to the below poverty line category will also get the the complete tuition fee waiver.
