Normally, Cusat conducts its own online entrance exam known as CAT(Common Admission Test). The forms are available from February onwards and the exam is conducted in Apr-May. You can find the form on admissions.cusat.ac.in

Course Curriculum Overview

The Information Technology branch of CUSAT is the best branch. There is a popular saying too, "IT Chill Hai!".Every year Highest placement is from the IT branch. The most important reason IT is so chill is the faculties are so supporting and helping(as compared to other branches). An honest suggestion, if you are getting to choose between CSE and IT, blindly go for IT.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 94000 per year

Placement Experience

Students become eligible from the 6th sem onwards for placements. Companies like Cisco, BigBinary, Codebucket, L&T, Mercedes, TATA power and many more. Generally for North Indians, the placement is 100%. I will look for a good placement and work for the same in future.

Fees and Financial Aid

No fees hike policy, as it is a Government(state) funded university. Financial assistance is given such as, Scholarships and E-Grantz are provided easily to the needed students. Kerala state students need to pay half the fee per semester.

Campus Life

The social life is on the main campus, and many fests are conducted.' Dhishana' is the annual fest, in 2019 actress/singer Dhvani Bhanushali came for this event. Many other events like art fest-'Sargam', sport fest-'KURUKSHETRA' and many cultural events are conducted. University Library is so rich with all its facilities. sports and extracurricular activities section is very effective.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are generally provided to 3rd-4th year students. Students can register on the hostel's official site of Cusat. Generally,1st-3rd yr students accommodate in private hostels or flats nearby on the campus.

from semister 6 students become eligible for campus placements and companies loke bank of america , google microsoft etc visited for campus placements and the highest package is about 54 lakhs where as average is 11 lakhs and about 98% of the students are placed

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

My journey at CUSAT: A students perspective

I also wrote KEAM exam along with CUSAT in which I was able to secure a rank well enough to get Mechanical Engineering in CET, Trivandrum which I got in allotment. But since my mind was already set to take ECE as my degree due to my interest and passion for electronics and computers. And yes I do recomment CUSAT to everyone. To join CUSAT you have to write the CUSAT CAT entrance exams and then the seat are allotted based on the rank you earn in the entrance examinations. And usually a rank around 1k can get you CS, 1.5k can get you ECE and SFE, 2k can get you IT, 3.5k can get you EE and 7k can get you ME and CE....Read More
