Remarks

My college life was epic. We had the best teacher's ever and the college offered the best degrees at that time especially in my field. Loved my experience over there and am very proud of being a Xavierite. Also infrastructure is absolutely gorgeous with the most ancient and rather british architecture. Completely different environment all together.

Entrance Preview

PhD. 84%. Best for BA. I had a special interview with the principal as I was one of those few cases who had changed from commerce to arts faculty after twelfth. Xaviers is highly popular for providing high grade academics in the fields of science as well as commerce and arts and has a wide array of subjects to choose from including subjects like sports which is great for girls and boys.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Good and at all times prescribed by our University of Mumbai, so always on point. It was largely theoretical and book based, very easy to interpret. Electives like sociology and commerce were taken up by me while others opted for physcology, logic, anthropology and political science.

Internships Opportunities

I didn't opt for internship but was a fellow for the department for rupees one fifty per annum at that time, which was indeed very little. But the experience I gained was immense.

Placement Experience

3.5

Very good in fact. Many people got good job offer with reputed companiesS both nationally as well as internationally. Around twenty people were placed at Taj, Tata companies, and Procter and gamble.

College Events

5

There were several events and cultural programs that were included like Malhar and farewell and prom. I enjoyed all of these though I was the shy one it was fun to watch the girls and Guys swirl to the beat.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is varying for different courses, however being financially weaker, Xaviers was a great option for me and it provided the best of the best in a budget.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm not aware of loans but there is a varied detail of scholarships that are mentioned on their website. Didn't take a loan at that time but you could if you want through the bank or the ones they provide.

Campus Life

5

Gender ratios are just fine though at that time hostel service s were confined to boys only. Not very sure of today. There are people from different communities but then it was confined to Indians only. Economic status of children ranged from poor to the rich.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels at that time were sadly confined to boys, am unaware if the policies have changed now but hope they have. The food was excellent and canteen services were great and highly hygienic.

Alumni/Alumna

Haven't kept in touch with many. But there are several alumni meet ups that are yet held of my batch and even the future ones. However my batch has settled down. And I have a few friends who are highly successful in life and have settled down in better countries like USA AND Australia England etc. It's great to still see the old teacher's be part of th ancient institution.

Exam Structure

Exams are very comparative which I think is great and they inculcate a spirit of responsibility end intensify memory. Exams were dependant on different courses and were well designed.

Faculty

5

Excellent faculty who were highly cooperative and helpful at all points of time, hopefully Xavier will always retain its good staff that increase the experience manifold.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Quite substandard and below average. Prioritised rote learning over critical thinking. Just a rubber stamp for a degree. No actual education ever took place. Exams were anually or bi annually. Exams were difficult if you cannot write 30 pages in 3 hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Yes, there is no specific place where we get to know that whether the college is open or not on a specific day like the day which has been declared closed by the government. The college doesn’t provide this facility for us. We have to move all towards our home to the college to get this thing.
