Remarks

The admission process was smooth. The administration was really supportive. For upcoming students, there is a complete student body setup for admissions by the name of PR Cell or Communique as we call them internally. Also, there's a hashtag by them. I would not suggest any improvements as such though.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course to get a knack for the IT Sector. There are good faculty. Mostly the same faculty for theory and practical classes. Also, the ratio is around 1:40. Teachers are well qualified. The maximum of them is PhD holders from DU and IITs. The teaching method is based on student understanding. Term exams were half-yearly and not difficult to pass given you follow the instructions from the faculty.

Class Size: 45Course Fees: INR 25270 per year

Placement Experience

In the 5th semester students become eligible for campus placements. 75+ companies visit for placements with 200+ offers. The highest package being ~19 and the average being ~8 90% of the registered students get placed. Profiles are primarily in consulting, finance, marketing and IT. Planning to work for two years and then post graduation

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is 29025 for the first year, 25270 for the second and third year Financial Assistance and Scholarships are available for BPL candidates Further, as compared to other Btech colleges the fees should not be a constraint.

Campus Life

We have around 50 societies, chapters and other student-run organizations on campus. Whatever you feel like doing you can get into it. Each society organises its annual event along with the Cultural fest Crescendo. Most of the journals are available in the library. Fully equipped classrooms are another benefit.

A great learing experience- my college review

Course Curriculum Overview:

I didn’t get into medical college. The curriculum is not that good in my course. Practical should be more focused and research papers. Timing is just 2 hrs for core paper many students exam are left for writing in short duration

Ignou: Flexibility And Disappointment

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason for the choice of course is ofcourse personal interest also, research work in chemistry is highly interesting and also has scope in fields like chemical engineering,forensic sciences etc. The teaching methods are really good and the books prescribed are available in the libraries. The timing of exams are according to the university and is into two halves.
