Remarks

IIT Jammu is a newcomer to the IIT family, yet it has quickly established a reputation and has become a hotspot for recruiters. I passed the GATE exam and applied for admission through the college's website, where I had to pay a Rs 300 online application fee. After being shortlisted based on my academic and GATE scores, I was invited to participate in a GD and PI round. I was overjoyed to be a part of the college because joining IIT Jammu was one of the best decisions I'd ever made.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college's curriculum is up to date. The curriculum adheres to industrial standards and adheres to the most recent regulations and global standards. The programme provides us with a thorough understanding and understanding of business experience, machine learning, coding, and data analysis, among other topics. The curriculum explains how to turn unstructured data into structured data that may be used. The college's faculty is likewise well-versed in these tactics. They are not only PhD standards, but they also assist us in comprehending every aspect in great depth. The teachers, who have extensive expertise in the corporate world, are the ones who assist us in clearing our foundation in terms of engineering and business techniques related to data science.

Placement Experience

4

The college has been able to compare the norms of the IIT in a short amount of time. From the initial class of students, the college has had a 100% placement rate. Because the quality of college education is so high, only a few of my classmates received pre placement offers during the internship. The highest package at college was roughly 45 LPA, while the average package was around 20 LPA. During the college placement drive, almost 80 companies came to our campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total course fee at the college is roughly 1.70 lakh. The college offers competitive placement packages. At this time, the college does not offer any individual scholarships, however government-funded scholarship schemes are available on the basis of merit and for SC/ST/PWD students.

Campus Life

4

The college's campus life is excellent. The college's labs are well-kept and equipped with all of the latest research equipment and tools. The college's technological and cultural festivals are Technectus and Renao. The college's infrastructure is excellent, and the college's location is beautiful and relaxing to the eyes. Overall, college is a pleasant environment to be in.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course to gain information about computers very deeply and to fulfill my dream. The student-faculty ratio was 1:20 i.e. 1 teacher in a 20-student class, according to me, this is the better ratio in terms of faculty and student ratio. Masters + PhD (NET or NET/JRF or SET). Exams were taken on time and the passing of the exams was at a moderate level not too easy or not too difficult.

Placement Experience:

As the institute is in its initial phase that does not mean that you won't receive any placement. The college placement committee is fully supportive and if you are a hardworking person you will receive a good placement. The committee is able to invite good companies for placement. Companies like Amazon, Arista Networks, The Captury, DESAY S V Automotive, Toppr, HealthifyMe, L&T, Cognizant, Indian Air Force (IAF), etc visited the campus to participate in the placement drive of the college. The highest package for our batch went up to 45 LPA and the average package was around 12 LPA.

Placement Experience:

There were only a few opportunities for students to appear in various Campus recruitment drives due to the conditions prevalent in the state of J&K. However, the campus did witness some PSU's towards the end of my 7th semester. Companies like HPCL, IOCL and GAIL visited primarily for recruitment of Mechanical engineering students. Although some four students from Civil Engineering also got placed. The recruitment process included three stages: 1. Selection of 3 or 4 students for group discussion, based on CGPA scored. 2. GROUP DISCUSSION 3.INTERVIEW

Overall it is a good college with respect to the quality of faculties and the library. Students are provided with a good reading room with one separated from the other by a board. Still, I would say the college management need to work a bit harder and address the gender inequality issues which girls are facing here.
