The college has very much eco friendly campus
The campus is very beautiful as it is on top of a mountain
Infrastructure is very good and systematic

Course Curriculum Overview

My course is chemical engineering. I like chemistry and physics very much so i choose chemical engineering as my first priority . There are regular exams and difficulty level is medium to hard . The HOD is very supportive

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is about 88000 for EWS students and tgere are many scholarships available in the college The fees of a general student is 1.20 lakhs There is MCM scholarship which guve us full fee waiver in tuition fees

Campus Life

The campus life is going so good as there is no ragging. seniors are like our elder brothers which help us in every step . There are DJ nights and events for fun . The technology support is very good as there are automatic gates .

Admission

I choose this college over other colleges because it had a bery great progress in past few years as its NIRF rankings also improved by a big gap . The placements are almost 100 % . It is also very beautiful and we have regular visits to nearby villages and forests

Faculty

Faculty is very experienced and good . They are very well connected to students. They not only help us in academics but also in real life problems. They are just like our parents. They are in regular contact with everyone.

Interview Experience

Yes I had a group discussion . It was an interview for being a member of management society of the college. They asked about my experience and how i can manage several situations. It was very competitive as many students approached them

Night Life

There is a multifacility gym which is fully ac and equipments are in very well conditions . In our campus there are many hangout places as on the top of college there is forest area for trecking and there lives many pair of white peacocks.

Nice and Unbiased review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra

Likes

College's weather is too pleasant and the air quality is also good
The environment is also very good and also the view is very nice
Seniors are very friendly in college and also the college has strict punishment for ragging.

Dislikes

The hostel food is not upto the level that a student expect.
The facility sometimes does not able to connect with Students
Hostels are very far away from the department and students have to move very far from the hostel

Placement Experience:

The placement of our college is Average and the students are eligible in 7 semester for placement. If the student has any backlog in any of the semester they can't sit in the college placement and also it has minimum criteria of 6.5 cgpa. The percentage of students getting placement is very low sadly

Jammu is the heaven so is this iit for your better future

For me cleanliness, environment and healthy life is very important and also I got a seat on iit on my first attempt so I had taken this course and currently I am graduated and doing perfectly fine and not regretting my decision. Also my rank was not very good that's why I got rejected from other old iits I applied for. I applied in all old iits and also to nits and to some IIITs too. Admission process to get into these prestigious college is only through JEE advanced exam which is very hard but with determination, perseverance and hard work you can definitely get into good college....Read More
