Students seeking admission to B.Tech/ B.Arch/ B.Planning courses can apply online through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply is November 22, 2024. Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main 2025 qualified candidates will be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced 2025 (conducted for engineering admission to IITs).

For each specialization, IIT Jammu offers 34 seats except Mechanical Engineering, in which 33 seats are offered.

Note: The colleges also offer 5, 3, 2 supernumerary seats to female candidates in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering courses respectively.

Eligibility:

75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in 10+2 or secure top 20 percentile in 10+2 conducted by the respective board.

Selection Process:

The admission to B.Tech program is done through Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced (JEE-Advanced) rank and administered by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) through centralized counseling conducted by JoSSA at the all-India level.

Candidates can apply online for the UG courses through JEE Advanced. Candidates applying for any of the B. Tech. programs offered by IIT Jammu are required to ensure fulfillment of basic eligibility criteria with regards to the percentile of marks obtained in the last qualifying exam, prior to filling the application form.

Candidates cannot apply directly through the institute’s website. They need to first apply for JEE Main and then for JEE Advanced in order to get admission in the institute.

Dislikes

Sports facilities are not too good. No cricket ground
There is no auditorium, all programs conducted in hall (so called OAT)

IIT JAMMU: A growing culture of education

Likes

The campus is beautiful, nice environment.
The air is clean, people are good and friendly.

Dislikes

The campus is quite small which was not expected.
Transportation facilities are poor and city is far distant.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee to be paid at the first transaction is about 2 lacs for courses. Also the mess fee is 25000. There is financial help for students good in academics or who are financially weak. The fee structure is affordable since college is government-funded.

IIT JAMMU: An emerging institute for Indian welfare

Likes

The campus is beautiful, clean and fresh air, pollution free environment
The facilities provided are good and more than expected.

Dislikes

The campus isn’t completed yet work is in progress.
They focus on academic much more and ignore sports.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Fees are similar to other government engineering colleges. The tuition fee is 2lac per year in addition to the mess fee i.e. 50k per year. The Cost of study is affordable with a good college facility and nice placement. Scholarship opportunities are there for students good in academics and for those who are financially weak.

The college provides scholarships on the basis of merit and SC/ST scholarship program is also available. The college also provides financial assistance to the needy. Education loan facility is also available and the admission department full cooperates during the education loan process.
