IIT Jammu BTech Admissions 2025

IIT Jammu offers BTech courses in 7 specializations. For each specialization, IIT Jammu offers 40 seats. The total tuition fees for BTech is INR 8 lakhs. The specializations and course fees are mentioned below-

IIT Jammu BTech Admissions Eligibility and Selection Criteria

The eligibility and selection criteria for BTech Admissions at IIT Jammu are-

• Candidates must have a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2 from a recognized board of education, OR candidates must be in the top 20th percentile in class 12. For SC/ST candidates, 10% relaxation is given in the qualifying degree marks, which means 65% is required in class 12.
• The IIT Jammu admission to the B.Tech program is done through the Joint Entrance Examination - JEE Advanced ran,k followed by centralized counselling conducted by JoSAA at the all-India level. For JoSAA Counselling registration, candidates can visit the official website in the third week of June.

IIT Jammu BTech Admissions Application Process

For BTech admissions at IIT Jammu, candidates first must appear for the JEE Mains exam. The application process for JEE Mains is-

• Visit the official website of JEE Main.
• Register for the online application form.
• Make a note of the system-generated application number.
• Create a password.
• Log in again and fill out the form.
• Upload scanned images of photographs and a signature.
• A fee of 650 INR (325 INR for reserved categories) will be charged. It is to be paid through a Debit card, a Credit card, Net banking, UPI, or Paytm.
• Keep a printout of the application form for future use.

The top 2,50,000 rank holders of JEE Main (across all categories) are eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced exam. To register for the JEE Advanced exam, candidates must-

• Visit the official JEE Advanced website (e.g., jeeadv.ac.in) when registrations open.
• Log in with their JEE Main roll number and password.
• Fill in the personal details.
• Upload the documents.
• Pay the application fee- INR 2900 for General/EWS/OBC boys, and INR 1450 for SC/ST/PwD/Female Candidates.

After this, the candidate should appear for the JoSAA counselling. The JoSAA Counselling has 6 rounds.

• Visit josaa.nic.in and register using your JEE Main application number and password.
• Select the choice of course and preference in the drop-down menu.
• JoSAA conducts 6 rounds of counselling based on the JEE Main Ranks.
• Accept the seat through fee payment and document submission.

IIT Jammu Dual Degree Admission 2025

IIT Jammu, in collaboration with IIM Jammu, offers a dual degree program (BTech + MBA). The total duration for the program is 6 years. The initial four years are for the B. Tech program, and the last two years are for the MBA program. The program has been strategically designed to allow students to exit the program after completing the fourth year, as specified in the National Education Policy 2020, Ministry of Education, Government of India. After completing the fourth year, students will have the option of graduating with a B.Tech degree or earning a certificate in management.

IIT Jammu Dual Degree Admissions 2025 Eligibility Criteria

In terms of age limit, qualifying examinations, and year of appearance in qualifying examinations, eligibility for the dual degree program (BTech+MBA) at IIT Jammu will be determined by the JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced).

To continue into the MBA program without taking the CAT, a minimum CGPA of 7 would be required. Any participant with a CGPA of less than 7 at the end of the fourth year must take the mandatory exit after the fourth year. These students, however, may take the CAT in order to gain admission to IIMs.

IIT Jammu Dual Degree Admission 2025 Selection Criteria

The selection criteria for IIT Jammu Dual Degree Admission are-

• JEE Advanced will be used to determine admission to the integrated dual degree program.
• If students achieve a CGPA of 7 or higher in the B.Tech., they will be able to complete both the B.Tech. and the MBA degrees without taking the CAT.

IIT Jammu MTech Admissions 2025

The 2-year IITJammu M.Tech program is offered in 8 different specializations. Candidates will be shortlisted for Interview in due course, based on the concerned examination marks and GATE score. Candidates having studied B.Tech from an IIT with a minimum CPI/CGPA of 8.0 and a valid GATE score are provided special consideration in IIT Jammu admission in M.Tech.

IIT Jammu MTech Admissions 2025 Application Process

Those who are eligible for admission have to take the GATE for MTech admission. The registration process for it is given below:

• Visit the official website
• Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email ID, and mobile number.
• After the form is submitted, an enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number.
• Fill out the application form.
• A fee of INR 1,500 (INR 750 for women and reserved categories) will be charged. It is to be paid online.

To register for IIT Jammu Executive MTech admissions, the candidates must-

• Apply on the Intellipaat portal link.
• Intellipaat will verify the documents.
• Intellipaat will communicate to the eligible candidates the date for the online proctored written test and interview after verifying their documents. The test and interview will be conducted at regular intervals. Normally, they will be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays for the convenience of candidates.
• A candidate will be selected based on their academic credentials, experience, and performance in the written test and interview.

For MSc admissions at IIT Jammu, candidates must-

IIT Jammu PhD Admissions 2025

IIT Jammu offers Ph.D programs in 10 different departments: Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.

IIT Jammu admission to Ph.D is classified under two categories- Institute Research candidate (Full Time) and Full Time externally funded students ( UGC, CSIR, GPAT, etc).

IIT Jammu PhD Admissions 2025 Eligibility Criteria

For full-time IIT Jammu PhD admission, candidates must hold any one of the following eligibility criteria:

• Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master’s degree by Research in Engineering/ Technology, along with a good academic record.
• Master’s degree in Science (with a good academic record) and a valid GATE score / UGC/CSIR-JRF/GPAT/ NBHM or equivalent qualification.
• Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with an exceptional academic record and a valid GATE score in the eligible discipline

IIT Jammu PhD Admission 2025 Selection Criteria

Candidates seeking IIT Jammu admission in Humanities and Social Sciences subjects should have a valid score in the UGC NET. Admission to a Ph.D. program in Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics/HSS requires CSIR/UGC NET/GATE/DST INSPIRE/NBHM qualification.

For the Engineering discipline, a GATE qualification is desirable for M.Tech. degree holders, and essential for B.Tech. degree holders with exceptional academic credentials.

Shortlisted candidates will be further assessed based on the interview and the applicant’s research proposal. Candidates can apply for the IIT Jammu Ph.D programme throughout the year, however, the shortlisting and selection are done twice in a year by each department.
