Ans. It's true, indeed. Because the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar, has a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IIT Jammu, which has IIT Delhi as its mentor, students from the NIT, Srinagar, will be eligible to take part in the placements held at the IITs in Delhi and Jammu.

Ques. Which branches are usually targeted by IT Companies at IIT Jammu?

Ans. At IIT Jammu, typically, branches such as Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and sometimes Electrical Engineering (EE) are the primary branches that are targeted by IT companies during campus placements. from 6th 7th semester students do internships and can get pre placement offers or can sit in campus placements from 7th 8th semester . main companies visited are microsoft , samsung , nvidia , qualcomm,scalar , infosys etc , highest offer what i heared of is 80 lakhs from some core company in dubai , average if 12-14 lakhs , average of top circuital branches is 18lakhs+ . about 60 % students get placed , some go for higher studies some for government exams for government jobs . i aspire for a good job after my btech , then grow in my job profile and start my startup and offline business .

Placement Experience:

If you are 7th or 8th semester then you can eligible for campus placements. For placement many company visited in IIT Jammu like Infosys,TCS, Paytm, Amazon , Samson. Highest package at IIT Jammu is 53 LPA , and average package at IIT Jammu is 17.6 LPA . Placement percentage is 85% students get placed. After getting degree i will get placed and doing my work.

right after the 5th semester students are eligible to apply for internships. if u have done well in intern the company may offer u a PPO. moreover you can apply placements and on campus interviews start after 7th semester. highest package offered in electrical was 70lpa and average package is around 24 lpa in 2024. i may go for higher studies to a foreign university. average students getting placed was around 60% in electrical even after so much recession and offers getting revoked we got good placements in college

Despite Of This, due To Our Faculties Good Ties With Companies, We Are Able To Have Good Placements In Comparison To Other Colleges. Highest Placement From Our College Was 54 Lacks In C.S Department And the minimum was 6.5 Lacks In The Civil Department. Average Percentage Of Students Getting Placements Is Around Is 85%.
