Remarks
NIT Srinagar is a public technical and research university located in Srinagar. It is a very reputed National Institute of Technology of the country. And since getting a seat in an NIT was my preference, I took admission there.
Entrance Preview
I got a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering there even though my rank was 26000. I got a seat in the second round there. My percentile was 95 in the JEE Mains entrance exam which helped me in the admission there.
Course Curriculum Overview
The computer science engineering course curriculum was very engrossing. Not only it contained the basic knowledge of programming but also showed me various interesting domains like web development, graphic designing, content writing, app development, competitive coding, etc.
Internships Opportunities
There were several internship programs which made me participate in them and get actual work to be done. There were summer internships by many companies which visited our college. They provided internships in their several projects. It was highly beneficial for me as it gave me the exact idea to perform tasks and operate at big companies.
Placement Experience
The Department of placement followed One Person, One Job Policy. The second round of placements of all branches commenced only after 70% of the eligible students got placed in their respective branch. The placed students were then eligible for the second round only if the CTC offered was greater than the first offer. Since I was eligible for the second round, I had to give an undertaking to T&P that, in case I got a 2nd offer, then my first offer would be dissolved with immediate effect.
College Events
Out of many other fests, events and conferences, the Techvaganza was the best annual fest. The festival was scheduled to be organized annually in the month of September every year. That very fest included many events in the festival such as iRobot Sniperbot, Win the Maze, Sumo Wrestler, Aqua Husstle which were highly interesting.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I had been admitted in the bachelor's degree course of Electrical engineering which was a four years course and cost me INR 1,20,000 per year. And total it cost me around INR 5 lakhs. These were the basic tuition fees along with which I had to pay other library fers of Rs.200, laboratory fees of Rs.200, Computer or Internet fees of Rs. 200.
Fees and Financial Aid
The best thing about the college was that it offered various scholarship schemes and financial aid for its students like me to lessen the financial burden and promoted quality education among us. I got the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship which was for College and University Students.
Campus Life
My campus life was good only. Many different personalities were there which made me encounter many distinct beliefs. I had set my mind to learn and explore right from the very start so I endorsed myself into several active communities which helped me get my aim fulfilled.
Hostel Facilities
There were different hostels depending on the year of the B. Tech students. For the first years B. Tech, Mansar And Manasbal Hostel was assigned. For second years, Indus Hostel was there. For third years, Chenab Hostel was there and for fourth years, Jhelum Hostel was there.
Alumni/Alumna
The Alumni Association of the college often held many Alumni Meets. They loved to talk to the young aspirants and spared time to search for different ways in which they could interact amongst themselves and with us. Their vision was to accomplish a lot of things and help students like me achieve their dream goals.
Faculty
The faculties at the college were very knowledgeable. There were many M.Tech students who were teachers. But in no aspect they were inexperienced. Not only were they always well prepared for their classes but were also very cooperative. And also being recent students, they used to easily get my problems and tried to resolve with the best of their knowledge.
