Remarks

Please work on jobs, change the courses, or at least change the CGPA system to 10. Please visit hostel campuses unannounced and see the pain the first year students goes through. Also, if you are yourself afraid of the lcoal students, why not ask help from police?? Most of the time non-local students are trying to save themselves from some drunken local guys, and when they reach out to you, u guys try to calm the situation rather than punishing the wrong door.

Entrance Preview

NEE I-Nerist Entrance Examination-I A very easy entrance examination. Used to be a good one when RECs used to be there. With AIEEE, the entrance doe snot stand anywhere

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

Pretty much outdated-Though the final year project was a good exposure, but the overall, the courses are very outdated-Basics are tought and not any thing new.(Ex-monochrome and color television is tough over 2 semesters and focus on LCD,LED, OLED)- Passout students are not at all corporate ready. Hence, most opt for mTech-No new lab instruments or no new language courses

Internships Opportunities

NoUnpaid trainings are provided, but that also by governments sector firms. Students have to organize their own intern ship or training. College do nothing about it. In fact, TnP cell do not operate at all in terms of training and placement

Placement Experience

0.5

Nill. Thee is no chance that you can get a job there if you are EC, CS. Big Mech, EE, Civil companies used to come but that were bygone days. Fake campussing have also happened. No corporate techsavy comapneis have ever heard of this college. Most of the students opt for MTech, others try for gov jobs by taking private coaching for 1 year more after passing out.The courses do not make students employable at corporate sectors. Most of the local students get job at their state level gov sectors and very few wander out in search of jobs in software and corporate sectors.

College Events

2.5

Shristi and Sonabyss- A culutural fest and another technical fest, where only students from within the college participate. Sometimes students from one or two local non-tech colleges come for participation. No sponsorship or no monetary award given. The etch fest is the most primitive form of tech fest. the robotics events are generally so much outdated, it seems like robots of bygone days. No seminars are public speakers have come here. Admins never take any initiative in bringing good leaders to the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its actually less than feasible. around 1 lakh for 6 years. The college is designed for providing a very much economically feasible B.Tech degree to NE students. And hence, the college admin didn't focus on any other stuff like courses or jobs or future of students

Fees and Financial Aid

State scholarships which are not related to college. It is already a very cheap college to provide any scholarship to studentsThough it is central govt deemed university, it feels like a state giv run out of funds university. Too much corruption level within the admin. They built a gate which costed 50-60 laksh as per rumours, and tiles of that gate fell within first month.

Campus Life

0.5

Poor gender ratio. 8-5 Classes. Overall security of the students is a huge concern, sports is average. No special groups for extracurricular activities.Girl hostel is very safe and overall girls are not allowed after 7pm for security reasons. That gives you an idea about the state of the university. Boys hostel remains open throughout, which amkes easy for the lcoal goons to come inside hostel and hackle non-local students for money. No gaurds are available at the boys hostel which makes it an easy prey.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facilities-5/10 (local disturbances)Food faclities-5/10(value for money. very cheap but less than average taste)Hostels are unsafe as often locals from nearbuy villages comes and harass non-local students. Old mess workers who retire from mess are given jobs as security guards and hence, you can imagine the situation. Girl safety is not a concern here. Guys safety is. Local goons have many altercations with non-local students of this college and whenever it happens, even admins hide themselves.

Alumni/Alumna

An Ok alumni network, senior students are now placed in very reputed companies in very strong psoitions. But again, no alumni network in general

Exam Structure

Very good. And infact very hard to top, but very easy to pass system. However, the marking system so much outdated, I have to explain it every time I go for an interviewThe CGPA system of 5 is severely outdated and percentage system of X16+8 makes you eligible for a maximum of 88%. Even if you are the topper, you cant get more percentage, which is the most awkward part

Faculty

2.5

Good faculty, but lacks modern technology knowledge Some of the branches have very good teahcers, but alas the number are less. Half of the faculty members are above the age of 50 and hence, no new technical stuff comes from them. Rest half are ex students of the college and hence have limited knowledge

The course curriculum was good. But it should be better by including more practical and site visits for better learning. The exams were not that much difficult you can pass easily. Exam frequency was also good

The Electrical Engineering course curriculum is quite comprehensive, covering key areas like circuit analysis, electronics, and power systems, which has well-prepared me for real-world applications, although incorporating more hands-on projects and industry insights could further enhance its relevance.

From 7th semester, we are eligible for placements. I am from cse branch and most students of CSE get placed with a decent package. Let's see what happens with my batch as my batch has the most students as compared to other batches. Last year the placements were not so good due to recession. Other branches like mechanical, ece, civil too get companies. I don't know about electrical engineering. But we get good number of opportunities for cse.
