BIT Mesra- A Blissful Boulevard of Serendipity!!

The Admissions were taking place through JEE Main counseling. I got my admission through the spot round which was the last round of counseling. All details about the round were available at bitmesra.ac.in The staff was helpful and informative. The notice by the college was clear and concise with respect to the process.

I chose the course as I wanted to pursue MBA later on, and Production Engineering helped me with Industrial management subjects. I took 3 management electives too so that they can be useful in the future. The faculty: student ratio was 1:20 All the faculty were qualified with Ph.D. degrees and had more than 10 years of teaching experience with several research papers in their area of expertise. The exams were Mid Sem exams for 25 marks, 15 marks for Internal Assessment, and 60 Marks in the End Sem exams. The exams had a pre-defined schedule. The level of papers was Medium to Tough

The fees structure is pre-decided and the same is conveyed to the students at the beginning of the course. The entire course fee was a bit over 10 lakhs. Fee was not hiked and it was the same as conveyed earlier. In addition to this, there is a scholarship for meritorious students who belong to financially weaker families. They can get scholarships up to 75% on their tuition fees. The placement scenario is promising. I received an on-campus offer (Full Time) of 17 LPA in my 7th Semester. I also got an internship in the same organization with a monthly stipend of 25000 (for my 8th Sem)

Annual fests are- BITOTSAV (Cultural fest), VAJRA (Sports Fest), Pantheon (Tech Fest), Rostra ( Literary Fest) and Genesis ( Annual Oratory and Quiz Fest). These events take place annually are divided smoothly across the year. There are 20 clubs and societies to cater to various interests - technical and cultural. Classrooms are well equipped with the latest technology and the seats are extremely comfortable.

For boys- 2 people share the room in the first year. Post that, students are given single rooms for the next 3 years. For Girls- 2 people share the room for 4 years. Mess Committee is student-led and the quality of the food is average. The hostel is mandatory as it is a residential programme, and it is allotted at the time of admission only.
