Remarks

Admission at Lakshmibai college was seamless. Teachers and students volunteers helped a lot during the admission time. They even helped students take admission in different courses by guiding them. The admission is done solely on merit base except bbe which is entrance based.only one form is to be filled for admission which is available at the admission counter. Once the admission committee reviews the requisite documents a fee slip is provided by the office member. All this happens in a very organised manner. Both the teaching and non teaching staff is amiable and polite.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have always been interested in studying English literature so it seemed the best option to me. For each paper there are atleast two teachers. So four papers are taught by eight teachers which is great as we get to interact with good number of teachers. The faculty of English department is well qualified and experienced. They always encourage us to share our views without any hesitation. Exams take place at the end of each semester i.e twice a year. It's not difficult to get passing marks but it is very hard to get high cgpa as it is not a very scoring paper.

Placement Experience

4

For campus placement one must be a student of final year. Wings- the placement cell of the college looks after the placement opportunities and inform students time to time. In 2019 internship fair was organised which gave students a chance to work for various NGO's and startups. Big companies do not usually come. However small companies do provide an experience of working in the corporate to the students. Apparently the lowest package is around 200000 per annum and highest is around 600000 per annum. I didn't work with any company as I wanted to focus on my graduatio. Now I am looking forward to pursuing masters.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is very much fine. For English Hons the annual fee is between rs7000-7500. There are some scholarship programmes for students belonging to weaker sections of the society. Information regarding the same can be sought from the office. During the COVID 19 pandemic college provided the installment option to students who were not able to submit fee in one go. This was a nice gesture.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is joyous. The infrastructure is great. The library is an amazing place to visit. All subjects' books are available. Moreover there are reading rooms where one can study peacefully. Book fair, diwali mela, annual cultural fest, freshers party and farewell party are awesome. There are a good number of clubs and societies where one can learn multiple things and hone one's talent/skills. In fact every department has its own society like English has 'Rhetoricians.' The classrooms are neat and clean. Moreover some new classrooms have been built which are beautiful. There is gym for sports people and apparently the coaches are also good.

Other Applied Colleges

Shivaji College, du | BA Eng (hons)

Both the teaching and non- teaching staff was rude. They were not helping students at the time of ad

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is something that can have improvements. For example I am studying C++ in my computer minor class which is becoming less and less relavent as compared to a lamguage like python. Alot of job prospects require students to know a language like R so I feel things like that should be taught so that the course cam make a student more real world ready.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course requires a lot of analytical and logical thinking. The scope is quite wide in my course without having any professional degree too like research, analytics, finance manager etc. This course gives opportunity to gain applied skills and as we are dealing with quantitaive aspects our statistics also gets better with time. Few improvements which i would like suggest are that their should more practical and real life knowledge, currently it is very theoritically heavy. Teaching online softwares must be compulsoury so that we remain updated with technology.

Placements of my college are pretty good. The placement cell of my college is pretty active and facilitataes the placement process. Companies like Deloitte, EY and PWC often come to our college for placements with the average package being Rs. 8,00,000. After getting this degree, i will pursure another degree in MBA or I might also take a part in the placement process and pursue an MBA later. Students in semester 6 and further can take part in the placement process but there are internship fairs and summer internship programmes for students who are not eligible for placements

I have a keen interest in pursuing in Economics field as a career and hence my degree perfectly aligns with my career goals The curriculum is not very effective when we talk aboht the real world exposure however it is very good for further academic pursuits The curriculum could be a bit more practical based where we get exposure to the real industry as well. The exams are held twice in an year. The difficulty level is moderate
