NIT Calicut Review

NIT Calicut is ranked among the top 25 engineering colleges in India and the college is known for its engineering program especially for its CSE program. I decided to be part of the college because I wanted a good placement and everybody needs a good placement and I was also one of them. I choose the college because I was able to meet the cutoff criteria and I have heard lots of positive feedback about the college. I cleared my GATE exam and my academics and my GATE score was according to the college cutoff list so without wasting time I took admission in the college.

The curriculum of the college is very interactive and intense but good for learning. We have to complete many assignments and we also receive research opportunities. The curriculum is up to date and as per the latest industrial standards. The curriculum uses case studies, simulation activity, and assignments methods. The case studies are perfectly synced with real-world problems.

Internship plays a very important role for us to gain professional experience. The internship is a very good learning opportunity for us we are able to implement our knowledge in professional environments. We are eligible for the internship after completing the first year of our program and we have to register our names with the placement department to take part in the internship program.

The college provides good placement packages and the college placement is as per the industrial standards and good opportunities are provided to us. The college placement committee plays a very crucial role as the committee is very dedicated and the plus point of the committee is that they are aware of your interest and they totally help us to get selected in good companies. The highest package for our batch was around 28 LPA and the average salary package was around 10.75 LPA.

The college average program fee is around 1.70 lakh which is very affordable in comparison to the top-notch engineering college of India. The fee is pretty affordable and the packages of the colleges are very good around 10 LPA is the average package that we get from the college. The scholarship on a merit basis is available.

The college environment is very healthy and friendly. Tathva and Ragam are the two main fests of the college that we are excited about. The college infrastructure is good. The college labs are modern and properly maintained. The college library is the place where most of my batchmates spend time as the curriculum of M.Tech is full of assignments so we are also able to get international research journals in the library which is very helpful for us. All and all the college campus is a good place to be in.

The hostel is full of all kinds of basic and modern facilities. The hostel warden is very good. The hostel rooms are properly cleaned 5 times a week. The hostel mess food is good and the menu is very culturally diverse but limited to certain dishes. The hostel has 24 hours of water and power supply. The hostel also provides us with 24 hours of WiFi facility. The hostel infrastructure is very well maintained. The stay in the hostel is good.

The faculty is very good and they are very friendly. The faculty is of Ph.D. level and they help us to understand the concepts very easily and they properly guide us during our research work and assignments.
