IIT Jammu Review

I wanted to be part of IIT for that I worked very hard I have to sacrifice my sports activity and weekly fun with friends. due to my studies, I was able to get a GATE score between 530 to 550. in my research I found that IIT Jammu suits my preference firstly it is situated at a beautiful location between the hills, the college is not too crowded, placements are good and good educational standards. So I decided to go for IIT Jammu. To be part of IIT Jammu first I have to meet the cutoff list of GATE and clear my GATE exam which I already did and should secure a minimum of 60% marks in my B.Tech and I have secured 65%. As soon as I decided to be part of the college I went to the college website and filled the admission form by paying a fee of Rs. 300/-online.

The curriculum of the college is according to the IIT standards means the curriculum follows the highest latest industrial norms and standards. We are given good opportunities for our project work and research activity. The curriculum is designed to develop our overall thinking capabilities and develop problem-solving skills.

WE are eligible for the internship after completing the 1st year of our program. The college committee provides us with a list of companies that are visiting the campus for the internship program. If we are involved in any kind of research or project work we can skip the internship by providing adequate documents to the placement committee. The stipends start from Rs. 15000/- and goes up to Rs. 95000/-.

The college provides good placement. The college has a record of 100% placement. The college committee is very helpful and supportive they guide us through every round of the placement process. They make sure that we all receive a good amount of package as per our interest. The highest package for our batch was around 40 LPA and the average package was approx 12 LPA. Arista Networks, The Captury, DESAY S V Automotive, Toppr, HealthifyMe, L&T, Cognizant, Indian Air Force (IAF), etc companies participated in the placement process of the college.

The college is situated in a beautiful location surrounded by hills. The college organizes many fests and events like Technectus is a technical fest of the college, Renao is the cultural fest of the college. The college classrooms are big and spacious. The labs of the college are modern and equipped with all types of machinery and tools. The college library has all types of books around the world with all kinds of authors.

The hostel is well maintained and the rooms are kept clean. The rooms are cleaned on daily basis. The rooms are available on a double sharing basis. The rooms are big and properly ventilated. The mess food is good. We are also served with a special menu during the festive season. The hostel wardens are professional and properly maintain the hostel decorum. The hostel is equipped with 24 hours of power supply and internet connectivity.

The faculty of the college is highly qualified. The faculty is of PhD level with corporate exposure which is very helpful for us. The faculty are always eager to share their knowledge with us. The teaching methods of faculty are very simple. The faculty also helps us in our project work.
