Masters from Tezpur University

Being a central university, Tezpur university is well known in India. Courses and their structures offered by the university duly accommodate the changing business and technology environment. Admission into MCA is really simple. A student must have a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in Bachelor's degree in any discipline. There is an entrance exam conducted by the university as a part of the admission procedure. The application fee is Rs.1000.

80 credits are required at the end of this course. The minimum duration is 2 years and the maximum duration is 4 years for the course completion. The last semester is entirely project-based. Both practical and theory subjects were given equal importance. I learned a lot of practical techniques and python coding while completing the project. The faculty members were well-qualified and experienced to teach in a university.

Placement opportunities are available for each course taught here. A number of companies that visit the campus is nominal and not very large. In my batch, 95% of the students got placed in good companies. Accenture, Airtel, Capgemini, Coca-Cola, Colgate Palmolive, Delphi Automotive, DRDO, Glaxo Smithkline, Godrej, and Boyce participated in the placements. The highest CTC went to Rs. 15 LPA.

The fee structure for the MCA course is reasonable and affordable since it is a central university run by the government. The amount is Rs. 75072 for two years. A total of 14 scholarships are available for the Tezpur university students. Some of them are: Post Matric Scholarship for students belonging to Minority communities, UGC Merit scholarship for University rank holders, PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for single Girlchild, UGC Merit Scholarship for SC/ST students pursuing PG level professional courses.

Campus life is not as happening and interesting when compared to another university. Since the university is in a remote location, the entire day is spent in the campus premises only. Pandemic also affected our stay on campus. We stayed in the hostels for only a limited period of time. The Annual Meet of 2020 was a hit and was talked about for many days in Assam. Overall, my campus life went ok.
