Remarks

Staff is not very good. Gives a feel of sarkari(government) office and staff. In simple corrupt staff and uses tobacco inside the college and sometimes we can figure out someone from the staff smoking.

Entrance Preview

There is no particular exam required for admission. It is a Delhi university college and admission is on the basis of yearly cut-offs provided.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is common for all the colleges under Delhi university. I opted for B.A (Hons.) English which is in itself a tough course with study of literature of different countries including British literature, American literature, Indian literature etc.

Internships Opportunities

No information has come to me about it. No information because, I think there are no internships that takes place in evening college. Only Campus placement cell of DU works.

Placement Experience

1.5

Considering a job or placement is mainly through CPC of DU which is open for all the students of delhi university and not confined to a particular college.

College Events

2.5

Events are organized by all the society, departments separately including Eco club, English society, NCC, NSS, department of Commerce. Miscellaneous events like cultural events, dance competition, music fest etc takes place.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible fees structure. Overall fees is about 7000-8000 year including exam fees. 1st year fees may vary by a difference of Rs.1000. Tuition fees is about 6900 year and Rs. 400-500 semester fees for exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is provided by the college for economically weaker students of up-to about 90% depending upon the academic performance. Also PWD, ST, SC and OBC students are also provided concession in fees from college and DU as well depending upon the number of students and their academic performance or so.

Campus Life

3

There is ample space for sports and other activities in the campus. Football ground, space for volleyball etc. A/c Computer labs and science labs are also there. A/c library is spacious. There is always a mix crowd when it comes to equality related to backward caste people or gender. Politics is bad. There are few quarrels going on between the union students or different party students.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostels are not available in this college. Hostels and rooms for rent are available in nearby locations with about Rs 3000 person including food for PG. Rooms can be rented individually or on sharing basis from about 5000 room.

Exam Structure

Exam pattern goes according to the guidance of Delhi University and exams are directly eyed by the university. All the colleges under DU have same dates and times listed by DU. Semester system is followed, two semesters per year. FYUP system was introduced but got reversed after a year. Internal exams and presentations are normal and are flexible according to the students.

Faculty

3.5

There is not a particular type of faculty. There is a mixture of good and bad professors. Some are very good, very knowledgeable, very fluent but some are just the opposite. Basically we cannot judge by just ourselves in once but overall experience is requires. There is, sometimes, problem as professors keeps on changing.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The reason why I choose this subject because I like history and want to know more about it . History have the best opportunities to pursue the UPSC , Anthropology, archeology and we can learn more about historical researches . The faculty im the department of history is updated and well versed in the field of history and have adopted student friendly teaching methods which make me suggest this subject in JMC to the students who likes to pursue higher studies in history. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester with moderate difficulty level .
