Remarks

NIT Jalandhar selects students based on their rank in JEE mains only. The seat allocation process is conducted by Josaa every year in which there are approx six or seven rounds and 2 special rounds are there. Different branches of B.tech have different cut-offs. There is a home state quota, OBC, SC, ST and women quota is also there. Just apply for Josaa seat allocation, the form of which is available generally within one month of JEE Mains Result on their website. Due to the Home state quota, 50 percent of seats are reserved for Punjab students. Out of approx 1110 seats, 344 are for the general category, 229 OBC,127 SC, 64 ST, 86 EWS, Approx 35 for pwd.25 percent seats are for girls only. When the desired seat is allocated in a particular round of josaa you can either freeze it or float it. It means we Confirm the seat or wait for a better Seat in the next round respectively. Once you freeze a seat you have to physically present yourself at the institute with the required documents to complete the admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I had an interest in Coding so that's why I have chosen cse branch and my rank was also sufficient to get me here. Good faculty: student ratio is there. Faculty is well qualified, most of them are PHDs from reputed colleges like NITs and few from IITs. Term exams in offline exams were 2 minor exams and one major at the end of the semester. In Online classes, there is only one exam at the end of the semester, But regular quizzes are taken every alternate week.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Companies like Samsung Salesforce and Microsft comes for the role of Software Developer to Offer. Samsung offer internship with Stipend of 50 K. Other companies generally offer around 10 K per month stipend.

Placement Experience

4

From the End of 6th semester companies like Microsoft Samsung etc starts offering placements to Eligible students. The highest package ON campus is generally 38-42 LAC given by Adobe or Amazon. The average package of CSE is 13.12 lacs. For ECE is 12 lacs. 95 % of CSE students get placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are constant from the past four five years 62500 tuition fees per semester for 6 or 5 Subjects. There are good job opportunities, companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, Codenation, Salesforce etc come ON-Campus for INternships and Placements with Obviously good stipends.

Campus Life

4

Life at NIT jalndhar is great, Hostels are very good, everyone in punjab is friendly in nature.(sometimes can be ditsracting from studies too, choose your association wisely), otherwise it is Alright. You can visit nearby hill stations and amritsar. 3 fests are conducted annualy, Bharat Dhwani in january, Utkansh in march and techNITI in november. Infrastructure is quite good. There is well stocked Library with great amount of important curiculum books and also Journals. Classrooms are Comfy, Big and air conditioned except few labs like EG lab. Many sports clubs are there like Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis, Tabe Tennis, Badminton,Athletics (Have few coaches though). There are Many Clubs for ptople with various intersers like Coding,Music, Singing, 2 Dance Clubs, 2 Deama clubs, Club for Communtion skills etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel costs 25K per semester and mess also takes 25K as their mess advance per semester. Hostel Rooms for first years have rooms for 3 students, Each one having his own Bed (without mattress), chair, Table and Almirah. Two fans In the room. Its Alright for Three, But in our time yhey accomated Fourth student also in most of the rooms which created some mess but still we managed it anyways. In second third year Hostel is changed and room is given to Two students per room with same facility and fees. Mess menu is good for Breakfasts ,Dinner,Lunch and snacks. Meal Quality in BH-1 is best. Registration for hostel is done online in lockdown, but in offline, registration is done when we go to college and fill Some forms there, pay fees and shift our Stuff in the room. PGs are also available nearby in bidhipur.

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.
