Remarks

The admission process was pretty easy. I just had to fill the form for UG admission in DU and it applied to every college under DU. The cutoff for BSc. Math (H) was 95 but I got 1% girls relaxation and was really lucky to get into south campus amid such cut-throat competition in the year 2021 due to no exams and high percentages.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Math Hons as I have always found mathematics interesting and wanted to learn more in college. Even though everywhere on the internet, everyone was warning about how difficult AND different it was from high school math, I still went for it because I really love it! Due to over-admission this year, the number of students in my batch is quite high. There are two teachers for algebra in the first semester so it's pretty good. And to be honest, it doesn't really matter in online classes. The teachers are really good at their subjects and highly qualified. Even though in an online class, it gets really boring sometimes, the teachers are really good at teaching and the best at what they do. It gets difficult for them to teach some topics because of the online classes but they do their best to make us grasp everything. I haven't given my term exams yet but till now, the subjects are pretty easy and are just a recap of the 12th standard plus a bit of high-level mathematics.

Internships Opportunities

4

The placement cell of the college regularly updates the students about the available internship opportunities. Companies and startups like otaku needs, chegg, karyarth, upgrad have offered internship with pre placement offers in our college.

Placement Experience

3.5

The students become eligible for placements in the third year but students of all the years are informed regularly about the internships by our placement cell which is really active. They offer good stipend which can be really helpful if you want to earn some money in your college life. Since majority of the students opt for masters after BSc, the placements are really less, even lesser in covid.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for my course were the highest among all the courses in the college. But it is pretty reasonable and affordable. The scholarships that I have come across were for reserved classes and the ladli yojna.

Campus Life

4.5

Due to covid, the college has still not opened. So, the online classes and the cultural clubs are the only college life that I have experienced yet. The library is really beautiful and large and one of the most famous ones. The campus is really beautiful. There are many parks and greenery all around the campus. The pahadi is the most famous and really pretty. The canteen serves nice and affordable food. The cultural societies are really active all throughout the year and are the life of the college. There are dance(western and folk), music, debate, theatre, department and many more societies in the college which regularly come to the college for rehearsals. The cell has started many initiatives and is very active. There is NSS and NCC that students can join.

I will rate 10 out of 7 to this course curriculum because in this course the experiment and lab works is too low as compare to another courses like biomedical science, bsc zoology and many more. But it's ok I'm happy with this course.

Students become eligible for placements on the 3rd year, we have decent placement opportunities but not the best, highest package is around 15 lakhs. Companies that visit are Bain and Co., Urban Clap etc. average package is around 5 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree are getting into a master's programme and pursuing research.
