Remarks

The admission process was easy and accurate. The eligibility criteria varied for different courses, of course. There are various cut off lists for every college. Also, our college gives a 1% concession in admission percentage requirement to girl applicants in several courses. There was no additional entrance examination, the board examination percentage was the only criterion for admission in the previous year. Emails are sent to the students once their admission is confirmed. Everything is very transparent. Also, I cannot comment on the reservations as I didn't avail them. But the reservation benefits are quite good. The admission process can be improved with respect to a better response to queries of the students through emails. As I also raised a query of mine through email, but I got no response from either of the heads of department. So this is an area where I think improvement can be made. Rest assured, this is quite decent working for a college.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this course because of the everyday application of economics on a day to day basis. It gives us a great understanding of the micro-individual level economics and macro- a whole broad vision of economics. The faculty is quite decent. For all the core and additional courses, the teachers are well versed and qualified. I have never had any questions on the qualification of the faculty. Some even are preparing for PhD level, what else do you think is called a qualified faculty. The teaching and learning go really well through interactive sessions. Some teachers are experienced while some are young and so we students can have a wide experience when it comes to studying. Talking about the exams, the Internal Assessments are to be held in January and February, and Semester Exams will be taken in March. There will be session break for two days as well. Not to miss, the teachers are adapting to the online mode of teaching, so the teaching process is improving and overall it's good.

Internships Opportunities

4

I haven't applied for an internship at the present as I am currently in my first year. However, the college website can give detailed information about the internship experience in our college. The placement society -Saksham Society also has a website where you can get all the information about the company who visit our college for offering internship opportunities to the students of our college. Go check it out for detailed information on every topic and query.

Placement Experience

4

The students become eligible for campus placements after the completion of their respective courses. The placements of our college are not very good or very bad. The average placement record has improved over time. Off campus placements are also there. Some courses are better in demand than others. But at the end of the day, the deserving will have an edge over others. Apart from that, one can also opt for higher studies and that is entirely a choice of the individual. The highest package attained by our college graduate was around 16 lakh per annum and the average is around 7 lakh per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are very affordable, according to me. I think that every student can attain it. Considering the scholarship, the information regarding the same is given to us through the department or the seniors who are really helpful and active in resolving the doubts as well. The scholarships and financial assistance are provided through some forms and information which is required from the students, it's an overall very smooth process.

Campus Life

4.5

About the campus life, I don't have any idea as I haven't made a visit to the campus because of the safety guidelines. But I must say that the online experience is also new for the students. It is nit anywhere comparable to the offline and live mode of study, but that's not a choice right now. Is it? Also, e-books are available for all students. There are many social groups or societies in our college which actively work for the students, run by the students. Some names to mention are: Saksham Society for placement and e cell sessions, Abhivyakti Society for debate and some new societies are also coming up for better experiece of the students like the Literature Society-Alfaaz and many more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason why I choose this subject because I like history and want to know more about it . History have the best opportunities to pursue the UPSC , Anthropology, archeology and we can learn more about historical researches . The faculty im the department of history is updated and well versed in the field of history and have adopted student friendly teaching methods which make me suggest this subject in JMC to the students who likes to pursue higher studies in history. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester with moderate difficulty level .
