Remarks

Maitreyi College is a highly popular name of Delhi University affiliated colleges and there was no doubt for me to do my graduation here. It has been ranked 32nd in 2021 and 36th in 2020 for IndiaToday rankings for Science category. Maitreyi is accredited with Grade "A" by NAAC and it offers B.Sc in 4 different specialisations. For admission to the college Candidates must be eligible as per the cut-off while final selection is done as per the Merit.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

There are 4 different B.Sc branches at Maitreyi but I chose Life Sciences because It was the one I had the most interest in. The subjects under this course are Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and being a PCB student I've been associated with them. The faculty as well as classrooms played an equally good part in our learning because both of them were to the point. The course at Maitreyi gave me just the experience I needed for my higher studies

Internships Opportunities

4

The Internship report at Maitreyi College is good because it has recorded participation of some leading firms from all domains. But only the deserving candidates get to work through the round and I was not that lucky to work through college Internship.

Placement Experience

4

For our batch the highest package offered was INR 9.5 LPA. Over 60 firms were present for the drive and Times group, PWC, Chegg, Wipro etc were some of the top names among those recruiters. The student placement was not that great for our course but as I wanted to go further in the research field I was more focused towards my learning experience.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee was not a problem for me as my parents have always supported me in this, but that being said It's my responsibility that I use that in the best way possible which was totally worth it at Maitreyi. The total fee for the B.Sc - LS course here was INR 26,860 and some Scholarships were also available there for eligible students.

Campus Life

4.5

The college has been giving students various opportunities to showcase their talents or skills and the Dance, Music, Singing,Drama and Sports activities are the most popular Events for this purpose. Along with them the annual fest Rhapsody is also very popular among the students as some celebrities visit the college on that day. The placement drive at Maitreyi is a part of the placement cell as they organise all things related to it. Our college also has a Library hall, Auditorium and various Societies for student's help and growth

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel can be availed by students who belong to outer part of Delhi and those belonging to different cities. The college has made good arrangements for such students but students can even search for PG facilities outside the college if they wish. However all this was not of much use for me as I was an up-down student and went from Home to College and vice versa. The expenses for such services were nearly INR 15 -20 K.

Admission

No such difficulty was there during admission for me as I've been the best performer for my school in 10+2 and my percentage matched the cut-off of Maitreyi. The admission was based upon the Merit list prepared by the college and also the availability of seats. To become eligible, candidates must have scored 45% marks in 10+2 standard.

We also placed in the same and next year when I sit in the next place, they help me in getting a job Italian's partner or what else can be better than this that they treat their student as a family. Even after when you're passing out, you don't feel like You are left out or you can't go again, so this is a thing which is really great about our college.
