Bhairab Ganguly College was established in 1968 and since then it has been a popular choice among students of the state for its UG & PG programmes. The college is given NAAC "A" recognition and it works under the affiliation of West Bengal State University. It is probably the best Public college in Kolkata and admission to the institute is based on the Merit list prepared.
Course Curriculum Overview
For any student, who has completed 10+2 with Commerce stream, B.Com is a very good option because it helps them to go towards a variety of domains for jobs and even higher education. The college has highly skilled and knowledgeable faculty making the course curriculum even better. Students also get the opportunity to get the real time experience through the corporate seminars and Competitions organised by the institute.
Internships Opportunities
The college helps its students to get more & more knowledge about corporate sectors through the seminars, Debates and the internship round plays an equally important part in this thing. Students get to work with leading firms which help them have a better exposure of the industry
Placement Experience
All students become eligible for placement drives in the final year and our college had around 70% placements during our batch. Not just job offers are made but they are all from famous recruiters like Flipkart, Axis Bank, Webel, HDFC etc. The average package bagged by the batch was INR 3.5 LPA and the main role in the placements of our college was played by its placement cell.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Bhairab Ganguly College is a great name for Commerce field courses and its fee structure makes it easier for students to avail these benefits. The total fee for the B.Com degree here is INR 17,080 only and as it is further divided into annual terms,no financial pressure goes on any student. Alongside this affordable fee , the students who have a good academic profile can even get Merit based scholarships.
Campus Life
The College is spreaded over a area of 9 acres and I think the campus life of our college has great opportunities for all available courses. Events and activities were arranged throughout the session and the craze among students for participation was commendable. Our college also kept it's classrooms and labs well maintained so that students can learn as per the needs of the real time world. Various sports competitions were organised by the college so that students can maintain a healthy mind and physique.
Hostel Facilities
Our college doesn't have any hostel facilities for boys or girls but students seeking accommodation services can get PG rooms/flats nearby the college itself. They can search for PG facilities by themself or consult with their seniors who have opted for such facilities. The charges for PG varies with the kind of location and facilities have you opted for PG facility. I didn't have to search for PG because my home was just 20-30 minutes away from the college.
Admission
To get admission in the B.Com degree at Bhairab Ganguly College candidates must have Passed their XII with Mathematics/ Business Math/Economics etc subjects from any recognised board. The selection of students for admissions is based upon their scores in 10+2 standard.
