Remarks

The college is affiliated to the university of Delhi. The admission is granted based on the scores secured by one in his/her 12 standard. The cutoff for the course can be anywhere between 90 to 95% for general category. Since it is a minority college, sikh students hold very good chnces of securing a seat. In order to apply for the college, one has to directly register on delhi University's official website. The college then releases the cutoffs. One can visit the college if one satisfies the set benchmark. The applications are out by the end of May. The admission process commences by the end of June. One thing to note is that the Delhi university council has decided to offer admissions to vaious courses based on the results of an entrance exam from the next year. The structure of the process is yet to be laid down.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Faculty is the best part. PD Sharma sir is the backbone of the insitute. He delivers lectures to cs hons students. He is actually engaged in several activities from preparing the time tables for various courses to organizing department fest. He has been a part of the Khalsa fraternity for more than 25 years now. The college has gained a lot from his expertise. It will be an honour if you get to interact with him even once. Talking about other faculty members. Those are also good but you might also encounter some nasty professors as well. But just focus on the good part. Rest all will be fine. The faculty to student ratio can be anything around 1:40.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Interships fairs are organized within the college campus. It is done by the college placement cell. Its annual internship fair "Anubhava" is extremely popular. There are ample number of opportunities for deserving students. Companies from several domains participate in the internship fair. These include edtech, fintech, travel and tourism, finance based, ecommerce etc. The stipend generally ranges from INR 5000 to 15000.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are good. It highly depends on the course one has enrolled in. Courses like Bcom, bcom Hons, BBA offer good opportunities. While those are difficult to find for courses like BA, BA English Hons, BSc maths Hons. Most of the students opt for higher studies after the completion of their course.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee lies between INR 25000 to 30000 per year. It is affordable. Talking about the scholarships, there are scholarships for meritorious students. These do include cash rewards. Placements at Khalsa are good. But since BSc computer science is a new course it needs structure. I got placed through anubhava. An online internship fair organised by the college placement cell. Companies from all domain can be found. INTERNSHIPS can be easily converted into PPOs if one is dedicated enough. The stipend varies from 5000 to 15000 per month.

Campus Life

5

Khalsa offers you many opportunities. It has a very lit crowd. Ample number of people can be spotted at jannat (the main area where a lot of interactions happen) and BBC (basket ball court). There are good number of societies. The most famous ones are Ankur the drama society, Arts society, Debate and discussion society, etc. The college is renowned for its cricket ground and team. It is considered the best in Delhi University. If you get an opportunity to opt for this college then do not think twice. It will be worth it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i believe CS hons is a decent course. The curriculum is however, very outdated. We are being taught several topics that have no relevance these days and they arent even taught properly. I believe a far better choice would be doing BTech instead since it has a better course and companies prefer that over BSc CS. In terms of preparing for the real world, i believe this course has no use since the most important parts we have to learn it ourselves. Exams are conducted once at the end of every semester (including practical and theory). However during the semesters, there are multiple tests taken to asses our knowledge regularly

I chose this course because statistics is a rising field and is used everywhere . Also l had a good command on Statistics and maths in 12th standard. I believe that this course is really very relevant for today's world but could be made a bit more practical to be applied in real world situations.

I believe that my course has relevance in the upcoming generation. Statistics is a department where a person could flourish and learn a lot and at the same time applying it in their own life. There could be more connections with real examples and professors could take example and also enhance our knowledge. My course is a rigourous course which needs proper studies as well
