Remarks

There is no entrance test for Psychology in University of Delhi as of now. There is only merit based option available. The cut-off list for my college was 93.75% but for the reserved categories, there was a significant difference as compared to general. At that time, the application and admission process was completely online. Just go on the website of the University of Delhi, fill the application form and when the cut off list gets released, you can check on the website and select your college and course then you have to wait for the approval of college for your admission. Once it gets approved, you can pay the college fee via Google pay or phone pay , and you are done with your admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

If we talk about faculty especially my professors for our core papers were PhD qualified and understanding, knowledgeable, experienced, and was very guiding and helpful too. But the teachers of other papers were not that much concerned. Once a teacher of AEEC(English) in sem-1 marked our projects even without opening the PDFs and we also complained about that but nothing happened. The exams are conducted after every semester. There are 2 semesters in one year. So in total, you have to give exams 6 times in your whole graduation. The mode of the exam was OBE (Open Book Examination) but that does not assure that you will definitely get good marks. The questions are direct but your result depends on the source of the answer, length, and presentation. If we talk about the internals, again your marks depend on your performance and assignments.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship opportunities are very good in our college. Internshala provides a fabulous platform to show your skills, talents and to explore the practical knowledge of your field. The stipend is also according to our roles which are completely dependent on your field.

Placement Experience

3.5

Currently there are neither companies visited nor any placements because we are the first batch of psychology. But for better placement, you have to atleast complete your master's in psychology specially specialisation in any of the fields of psychology which puts you in a better place to get a job. I am planning my master's in psychology after completing my graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

In first year, the fee was 8500, and in the second year, it was a bit low, 7 thousand something. We also have to pay for examination fees 1110 annually. So total fees of graduation 2700 approximately. There are scholarships available for minority castes like OBC/SC/ST. Also, there are centarlized scholarships provided by University of Delhi.

Campus Life

3.5

As we all know, the classes were online due to pandemic. But still in sem-1 we all were called for campous tour which was really amazing. Our college also organized the annual function in 2021 but in 2020 , it was in online mode. There are sports activities conducted and also have a big playground. The extra curricular activities are organized frequently which gives students the platform to explore. There is a FREE psychosocial support helpline providing psychological first aid to female students of University of Delhi which is run by students trained and guidance under the college counsellor and our professors. People from different colleges of DU can share anything that comes to their minds without the fear of being judged. All the information will kept confidential. There is also an app of our college for student grievances. Previously before covid, some celebrities like Suraj Pancholi, and Varun Dhawan came to our college.

Other Applied Colleges

B.R. Ambedkar College, University of Delhi | B.A.(Hons.) Psychology

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is something that can have improvements. For example I am studying C++ in my computer minor class which is becoming less and less relavent as compared to a lamguage like python. Alot of job prospects require students to know a language like R so I feel things like that should be taught so that the course cam make a student more real world ready.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course requires a lot of analytical and logical thinking. The scope is quite wide in my course without having any professional degree too like research, analytics, finance manager etc. This course gives opportunity to gain applied skills and as we are dealing with quantitaive aspects our statistics also gets better with time. Few improvements which i would like suggest are that their should more practical and real life knowledge, currently it is very theoritically heavy. Teaching online softwares must be compulsoury so that we remain updated with technology.

Placements of my college are pretty good. The placement cell of my college is pretty active and facilitataes the placement process. Companies like Deloitte, EY and PWC often come to our college for placements with the average package being Rs. 8,00,000. After getting this degree, i will pursure another degree in MBA or I might also take a part in the placement process and pursue an MBA later. Students in semester 6 and further can take part in the placement process but there are internship fairs and summer internship programmes for students who are not eligible for placements
