Remarks

Eligibility: You need to clear NEET and at least clear the qualifying cut-off to be eligible to take admission in this college. All the seats of this college are alloted by the Karnataka Examination Authority ( KEA). You can apply for the counseling on the website kea.kar.nic.in. Keep Visiting the website regularly to be up-to-date to the counseling schedule and procedure. Reservation: Non-Karnataka candidates are not eligible for any type of reservation. However, the localities ( candidates having Karnataka domicile ) are eligible for reservation as OBC/SC/ST/MM( Muslim Minority). Admission process functions very smoothly. But it can be improved a little if the process of document verification is done at the time of admission only.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course as I liked Biology very much in my 11th and 12th and I also wanted to be a doctor since my childhood. Faculty:student ratio in this college is well maintained. There is 1 faculty member over 25 students. All the faculty are well qualified and experts in their fields. Some of the professors are functioning as scientists for the university and have reserved some patents for their researches. The teaching methodology is also very good and according to the latest norms set by the university. Every year you have to go through some college-level exams ( Internal Assessment) three times. And you must score at least 50% as aggregate in each subject to be eligible to give the final University Exams. All the exams taken are as per the latest Revised Scheme for evaluation set by the university. On average the difficulty of exams is high. Regular studies and consistency can make anyone pass the exams .

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Internship is given in the Ambedkar Hospital situated within the campus. Interns get great exposure to a large number of patients due to the heavy patient load on this hospital. However, the internship is NON-STIPENDIARY. Yes, you read that right. Till now there is no stipend given to the interns.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a yearly increment in the fees of 10%. For example, If you have taken admission in 2020 your fees will be 9.9 lakhs per annum for the entire course but If you are taking admission in 2021 fees for the entire course per annum will be 9.9 + 10% of 9.9 = 11 Lakh per year. The above is generally observed. But sometimes there is a fees hike whatever has been agreed by the authorities.

Campus Life

4

The college organizes its very own college fest called SYNAPSE every year. This event is at a very big level and various functions related to it are carried out. It is a such a big level that it is telecasted on the local news channels. The library is loaded with every edition of the book you need. We have 2 blocks of library. Block 1 contains all the books and a very good environment to study. Block 1 also contains a digital library with audiobooks and digital copies of many of the national and international productions. Block 2 does not have any books, you can call it a reading room. Where you have to bring your own books ( or get books issued from block 1 ) and study till whatever time you want. The lecture halls have a good seating arrangement with proper lighting and audio-visual aids. The weather of Bangalore rarely requires ACs but still those are installed in the lecture halls. There is a sport section from where you can take the sports material and play in the ground.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel: It is provided by college itself. There is no compulsion to opt for hostel. And once alloted you can leave it anytime you want but the fees already submitted will be forefeited. Boys hostel: All rooms are of double occupancy with 3 tubelights , 2 beds ( carry your own matress ) 3 almirah, 1 ATTACHED BATHROOM with Western type toilet seat. The area of room and baathroom is enough for 2 people . Water supply is 24x7. Well ventilated. Power backup available 24x7. Solar water heaters installed on the terrace. Girls Hostel: Double occupancy rooms with less vetilaation compared to boys hostel. 2 beds, 2 almirah provided. NO ATTACHED TOILETS AND BATHROOMS. Common toilets and bathrooms for a floor. Washing machines common per floor. 24x7 water and electricity supply

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
