A second chance.

Exam-MHT CET (160/200). This was one of the many exams are appeared for. I selected SPIT because it was the best college in Mumbai,also convenient for me in terms of travelling.

My course( computer engineering) doesn't have a lot of computer related subjects in the first year..first sem has no computer subject. Second year has one computer related subject called SPA. The subjects in same for all the first year engineering students irrespective of the college and steam they're studying in. Second year onwards, the subjects get more centralised towards our subjects reducing the no of other subjects( in my case,subjects other than computer related subjects)

Internships are provided from second year onward first year students font get a lot of internships did to the lack of knowledge.. however there are committees that provides internships only.

Average placements -7-8 lakhs. There are mainly three types of companies which come to the college 1. Coding Companies (Software, tech). Here the job profile is a coding job varying from a software developer to an analyst. We have banks like Morgan Stanley ,Barclays ,Credit Suisse which come for such a job profile. All the branches can apply for these companies. We also have core companies like Microsoft ,Inidia for a similar profile. Only computer and IT can sit for such companies.(It may change in the coming years though.) 2.Electronics Core(hardware,tech) Companies like Philips,Siemens,Johnsons Control Come to our college. The profile is mainly Electronics related. Electronics and Extc can sit for such companies. 3.Consultancy/Data Analyst(Non-tech) Here the job profile is that of a Data Scientist, Buisness Analyst etc. The Companies which come are KPMG ,Deloitte ,Mu Sigma. JPIBS also comes for a similar profile.

College provides various scholarships and freeships for backward class students and also have scholarship facility for economically backward class students you should talk while taking admission to institute.

Each year college organizes get together for alumni and it is great sharing of knowledge among in and pass-out students on various aspects including current market scenarios, latest trends in industry and suggestions for new adaptation of technologies and knowledge.

EXAM STRUCTURE. It's mumbai university . So never chilled out. But manageable. College follows all the rules without bending. A very hectic schedule indeed. 9 /10 RATINGS. COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW. 1st year has no electives. 2nd year I had my core subjects of IT. No electives at all because Mumbai University we do have some subjects which are not required and some easy ones. But not all help us learn much.

My admission was done through the online process called the CAP process. There are multiple rounds in this process. You fill the form only once for all the rounds the dates were released for the results also there are multiple offline rounds wherein students who haven't scored as well could still get into very good colleges. You fill different offline forms for these offline rounds.

A lot of teachers teaching has a teaching experience of over 10 years( most of them) About 15 of them has a PhD degree..students are very interested in learning from these well educated teachers.
