Remarks

If you just passed 12th class and looking for Satyawati College or any other college in DU so you should look at last year's cut-offs and can see your chances of getting the college. When I was a fresher I filled application form and it was an offline process but now everything is online. Delhi University realises the application form on its site and its fee is 250rs. After the last date of application, form cut-offs come each week till the spots are full. And you can get admission according to your marks. If you have a reservation you can have relaxation in cut-offs and its a good news for you. When I was in college admission process was very messy but now everything is online so you can take admission in colleges while you are sitting at home. So now it's a good step by DU.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because I wanted to become an economist and wanted to help India and its economy. Faculty members of Satyawati are good, they behave well to students and they help a lot. In my time there was 1 teacher to 40 students but now it's more according to my junior friends who are studying in the college. If we talk about the qualification of the faculty, the members were qualified and they had experience. They teach well but some teachers were so stubborn means they teach their way not according to the book. So this is the point they should change and except them, it was fine everything. Exams were held two times a year and there were many tests and viva in Between. Exams and tests were not tough but if you don't study then they are tough. Consistency in study matters.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Many internships are available there. These internships help students to evaluate themselves more. There are many societies that too provide internships to students. Saksham: career counseling, placement, and e cell of Satyawati is there. This society provides the best internships in Satyawati. Eartha is a society in which the girls ratio is high it speaks more about women's and their empowerment. I had one internship and it was an awesome experience of mine.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is not high it's an average fee. And if you do a part-time job with study then you can too pay it. And the fees hike is too very low. So don't care about the study costs in Satyawati College. I joined two societies where I have to take surveys from people on climate change and it was a simple task and I did it. It was based on the environment, how can we protect our nature. And in the second society they gave me some work, it was about listing and I did this too. After 1st year I left both societies and started focusing on my goals. But yes it was a good experience. In my second society, they gave me a stipend of 120rs for 3 hours of work many times. You can get scholarships too If you are good enough at certain fields like study and sports. They too provide you with financial assistance.

Campus Life

3.5

Many fests are conducted in a year. Many shows are too conducted like debate shows, comedy shows, tech shows, etc. Many books are not available in the library mostly advanced books are not there once I went to issue a book from the library but it was not available because it was of MA economics. Classrooms are neet and clean and desks are good and available in good quantity. Whiteboards are there. Many classrooms have projectors. Sports facilities are available even though the sports ground is not big. But many sports are organized by colleges including NCC.

Other Applied Colleges

Deshbandhu college | BA programme (eco+maths)

I got better opportunity in 7th cutoff.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The reason why I choose this subject because I like history and want to know more about it . History have the best opportunities to pursue the UPSC , Anthropology, archeology and we can learn more about historical researches . The faculty im the department of history is updated and well versed in the field of history and have adopted student friendly teaching methods which make me suggest this subject in JMC to the students who likes to pursue higher studies in history. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester with moderate difficulty level .
