Remarks

VNIT Nagpur is a reputed college, It is near to my hometown (this was one criteria i used to choose the college), materials eng. dept. is good and reputed(the branch i wanted to do M. Tech), my gate score fetch me this college , I couldn't get IIT at this score

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Materials Engg. is a very promising course from research point of view, something somewhere new discovery is always being done , so career prospects look bright, so I chose15 students in a batch of M. Tech so faculty student ratio is good, Faculties in VNIT are are all experienced from IIT and Abroad and years of experience , so no complaints, Teaching method vary from faculty to faculty, some prefer board, some ppt in computer so its the all traditional thing we have experienced from childhood

Internships Opportunities

2.5

I did not opted for internship but many of my friends have done various research organizations like labs of DRDO, BARC, ISRO etc. in companies like BHEL, SAIL, PSU's, some students do internship outside India also. Internship options come from T&P cell also and many students are selected and evetually get absorbed in that company (PPO). I regret not being aware at that time

Placement Experience

4

placements are good , you'll get a job unless you are a blunder, average package is around 5 lac plus, may mNC like tata godrej Thermxax JSW dasault AMNS TCS delloite wipro infosys etc come and hire students, selection process may vary and generally there's an entry cgpa restriction to sit in campus like say 6.00 cgpa and above, this may vary from company to company, other opportunities are going for further studies, many students fetch foreign universities and IITs, so if you are good or ill say average also you will be earning your meals don't worry

Fee Structure And Facilities

M. Tech course in any IIT or NIT in India offers stipend of 12500 Rs. for two years duration by MHRD. fee hike is generally not done once you are admitted (it may change for subsequent batches) , you can pay fees from this stipend, and if you choose hostel facility ( accommodation and mess) then you may need some 20000 Rs from pocket extra for the whole course, Regarding Job I qualified written of Essar , Dasault aviation but couldn't clear their interview, but want to say there are ample opportunities

Campus Life

4

campus life is very exciting, but B.Tech guys steal the show, the college is all theirs, "Aarohi" is the name of cultural fest where many activities happen like dance, drama, singing poetry invited guest (some prominent personality) meetup. there's also a tech fest where science projects and demonstration along with fun happen. Entrepreneurship cell invites famous entrepreneurs to share their experiences and motivate students, There are many clubs, like social service club (organize blood donation camp twice a year), drama club , music and painting and many more I may not be aware of, Library is good and well equipped, students can borrow up to 5 books at a time but they need to be renewed once a fortnight, library is a separate building which houses a reading room , journal room , computer room(for digital reading), I have no complaints regarding infrastructure. regarding sttudents run websites each organisation has their website , some are http://www.aarohiworld.org/ http://www.axisvnit.org/ etc

Hostel Facilities

3.5

single room alloted to every student in PG5 (hostel reserved for PG guys M. Tech and Phd), in total there are 5 hostels for boys and 3 to 4 for girls, no problem of accomodation if you are from outside the city, anyone admitted in this institute can get a room here, Food is also good there is a weekly menu for 4 time a day. availing hostel facilty is simple, after admission they ask if you want to avail hostel, if yes you can fill the form and submit the fees and get into the room, theres no good or bad room all are same

Admission

No, selection is purely on GATE exam score for your category. No GD, interview or anything else is conducted.

Placement Experience:

The placement situation at my college is really good. It is getting better all the time. At my college students can start getting ready for internships and placement training from the semester. Then most of the full-time job opportunities start coming up in the semester. A lot of students at my college get something called Pre-Placement Offers or PPOs for short through internships before the actual placement season starts at my college. My college students get these PPOs. It is a big help to them. Placement, at my college is a deal and my college students take it very seriously. A lot of known companies come to the campus every year. The main companies that hire people from the campus are NVIDIA, JPMorgan Chase, Barclays, PhonePe, Microsoft, BMC Software and Citi Bank. Some companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Capgemini hire a lot of people from the campus. These companies, NVIDIA, JPMorgan Chase, Barclays, PhonePe, Microsoft, BMC Software and Citi Bank are really good at finding the people for the job. Companies, like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Capgemini also give jobs to students. The Placement Highlights for the year 2024 to 2025 are looking good far. We have had some results. The highest package offered to a student is 45 LPA. The median salary is 9.5 LPA. This is a sign because it means that most students are getting a decent salary. 86.3 Percent of students have been placed so far. The average package is different for each company and role. For example a software developer will get a package than an analyst or a data engineer. Students who get the paying roles usually have strong coding skills. They also have projects to show and they do well in their technical interviews and in Data Structure and Algorithms which we call DSA for short. Placement Highlights for the year 2024 to 2025 show that these skills are very important, for students. The college does not promise that every student will get a placement. It really depends on the student. Students who ta
