Journey to the dream

First of all I want to pursue Mathematics honours as it helps me get quite a few options for jobs in the government sector. I was eligible for the same course in Ramjas College and Sri Venkateswara College as well. Also I was eligible for BMS in SSCBS but I didn't see my career trajectory going that way so decided to with Kirori Mal College. It has probably the third best maths department in the University of Delhi. I applied to all the other North campus colleges for Bachelors in Economics and Maths but my cuet score wasn't that high as I was unable to perform according to my ability so I didn't get admission in SRCC, Hindu or Hansraj College. The eligibility differs from course to course. As such, there is no particular eligibility criteria. One has pass the class 12th examinations and clear the cuet cut-off. For my course, maths is compulsory as a subject in class 12th; the cut-off was around 750/1000. The admission experience was smooth. I chose this college because of its well reputed maths department and faculty. The infrastructure, quality of learning and its reputation in the maths field is better than the other colleges. The croed could be better. I got accepeted to Atma Ram College in DU before this allotment. Some better marks in physics could have gotten me the top 3 colleges of DU but I am still satisfied with KMC. I have not applied for any other colleges. I just applied for Delhi University and I got admission in Delhi University College. The admission process of this college is first of all you have to give the exam of CUET UG then you have to apply for Delhi University portal and make your preferences, and then you will get a college according to your marks and your preference. I wanted just either of them be it Hindu or KMC. Cut off for Hindu College was 772 and for KMC it was 758. So, since I got 760, I had to choose KMC as it was the top ranked available DU college in my admission year....Read More
