Remarks

I have applied for many colleges, but I set up Kirori Mal College (DU) as my backup and finally it suits me best and is worth it. Although there are many quota available but I didn't go through any of it as it is much easier to get admission through board marks. For BSc Hons Chemistry one must have physics chemistry and maths in 12th, whose percentage is calculated and then through a easy process of cutoff admissions are done.

Course Curriculum Overview

Teachers are so helpful and friendly and are well qualified, like PhD from IITs. Almost 90% students scored 8+ SGPA in semester exams, semester exams are not much hard it is easier to score 9+ cgpa. Mainly you can go for higher studies through this course and then it will be more effective. Teaching quality is above average. 50 students on 1 teacher in theory class and 50 students on 2 teachers for practical class.

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 14695 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are many internships provided through college by many companies. Every semester there are many new opportunities of internships are available. Varying from 5000 to 50000 of stipend for 2 to 3 months. DeShaw offers the best internship that is of 2 months internship with 50000 stipend. Also some tech companies offer a good internship program.

Placement Experience

The only bad thing about this college is placements, not much effective. 30-35 percent students are placed from this course. Approx stats: 10-12 students out of 150 are getting placed . This had been gradually decreased from 3,4 years. But you can expect increase in upcoming years. The highest package for a BSc Hons student is 6 lpa and average is 3 lpa. DeShaw, and some other MNCs offer good placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it is government college the fees is very low, also there are many scholarship available for different criterias. One can also apply for financial assistance easily. Like, for one year the fees for BSc Hons student is 14695 excluding hostel fee. Hostel are also available but only for boys. Ganga Sant, Puran Chandra Khatri are some scholarships offered.

Campus Life

Infrastructure and facilities are good but not the best, the best thing about the canteen which mainly focus on hygienic food . The sports facilities are aslo good one. Campus is well worth for extra curricular activities, like NCC and for sports. Explore for your talent like music, acting, dancing, leadership etc. Alumini from this college are mostly in acting field. NSS is a social group run by students under theme of SAHYOG. Chemsoc, Debsoc etc are some societies.

The students become eligible for placements after second year or even third year. Companies like Google, Deloitte, KPMG, HDFC Bank, Maruti Suzuki, McKinsey, etc visited our college for placements and recieved over 200 placement offers in the latest year 2025. Highest package of Hindu College is 36.5 LPA and the average package is 11.4 LPA. Hindu College has a high placement rate of 95% of eligible students securing a placement here. My plan is to prepare for UPSC or SSC-CGL after my degree.

I chose it over others since it's the only north campus college with a good reputation and name providing Political Science Honours other than Hindu college , I preferred Hindu over it but due to inadequate marks I couldn't qualify for Hindu . My journey at Kirori Mal college

Ok so I have a whole journey of my admission process . In the first round of my allocation i got confirmed admission in hansraj college for history hons then I applied for upgradation n then I got miranda house for same course but I was not happy with my course n then in round 3 under cw category I got pol science hons in kmc college I know I have already got good colleges in initial round but for my preferred course I decided to sacrifice my colleges . The admission process of kmc is quite smooth like within half of a day I got my admission confirmed there n even after coming late they reopen their erp portal for choosing different papers for those students who got upgradation in later rounds ....Read More

My Experience at KMC

I applied to ipmat program of iim indore which is a tough exam as it offers ba+mba in iim indore and pursuing mba from iim indore is one of the best thing that a student can pursue, i cleared cutoff of short answer and mcqs but couldnt clear the cutoff of english which is surprising for me also, A student have to appear for cuet examination and clear the cutoff in order to get admission in KMC, cutoff for general was around 740 in first round for mathematics honours and exams accepted was english, maths and 2 other domain subject...Read More
